I am having the HARDEST time preventing razor burn on my thighs/butt.

I've been trying a bunch of different methods. I wait to shave until the very end of my shower, after the goosebumps have come and gone. I use a nice replaceable razor. I use a shae butter shave lotion rather than foam. I exfoliate with a salt body scrub the days after I shave. I use unscented lotion regularly.

While these have helped tame the razor burn a bit, I still get it! Any tips? Will it go away with time?

I'm having trouble locating the post but I posted somewhere about this as I have the same problem.  Someone suggested that exfoliating VERY aggressively like with a scrubber used to wash dishes is the only thing that did the trick for them.  I haven't tried it myself but it could be true and maybe the salt scrub just isn't doing enough.

Are you using razors designed for woman?

I use Intuition by Schick, it is a different shape, weight etc to male face razors.

I know you're asking the OP but I'll answer anyways.  I've tried men's razors, women's razors with shaving cream, conditioner, just water, depilatory cream.  Still get the razor burn.

Yep I've been using Gillette Venus razors. Not like, the super crazy expensive ones...the blue ones lol. And I use this shea butter shaving lotion. It's not a cream or foam. It definitely helped subdue the razor burn, but I'm still getting some bumps. It just sucks because I can't wear short skirts/dresses/shorts without them showing. From my knees down, it's fine. Just my thighs and butt. Will my skin get used to it over time? Lets hope and pray!

You probably have sensitive skin try using shaving gels for sensitive skin. Also I know they are pricey but the Venus embrace are the best razors I've ever used! Also I don't know if your on hrt yet but your skin does change over time and you shouldn't have this problem forever.

Will HRT help alleviate the razor burn? If that's right, that's fantastic!!!

I am still yet to find the ultimate solution to prevent razor burn but I've started using Intuition by Schick razors and they seem to be helping. Give them a try as a few people on here suggest them also.
