tattoos that hinder femeninity

hello im chris.... for now lol im 23 years old 5ft11 or 5ft10 on a good day lol and about 185 lbs. ive been fighting the truth and reality all of my life and i still have yet to come out to my family and most friends about being tg. and all my life ive tried to do manly things such as sports and all sorts of manly things including tattoos... i really actually like getting tattoos and i love expressing myself through art and music but some of the tattoos i want i havent gotten because they would be too girly in my opinion, so in turn i got some pretty manly tattoos on my upper body side and arms, all of which can be easily hidden mostly with a t shirt, but when it comes time for me to transition i know ill want to wear dresses and spagetti strap blouss and such and i know ill regret having the tattoos on my chest and such... sooo i was wondering if anyone out there has anything similar that they struggle with? or have any regrets of manlyish deeds that they have done to try and convince themselves not to come out or transition? and if you want pictures just ask lol and they wont be dirty btw....

I saw your pics etc and I think you have a great chance of looking really good!

Tattoos are somthing that has been talked about a lot here, some people love them, some don't, but I think the one thing that comes out is once you have them you are stuck with them! I know they can be lasered off but it is expensive and has a high risk of scarring.

Maybe you should consider getting the Tatts modified to be more feminine looking when the time comes?

Lots of young woman have tattoos so you are not alone in that regard, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I see you are waiting to be deployed, I assume you are a USA armed forces member, so do take care and be safe on your deployment. I do hear that things can be tough for transgender people in the military so you need to take care of yourself. That said there are many woman here who served their country.

hey thanks alot it really does mean alot, and yes im in the navy currently. ive told a few of my close shipmates about me and they took it really well and support me fully! i dont have to do this deployment though which is killing me but i want to make all tht extra money while im deployed to help pay for things for my transition, it wont cover everything but i figure id set my self up for success ! and with the adding to the tattoo thing, i was really thinking about doing so but its really hard to find some artwork that would mesh up well with it all! hmmmm i know ill think f something. and thanks again!

I would love to see your tattoos. I've always wanted to get sleeves, and i held off only because, much like yourself, i wanted them to be pretty feminine. One of my managers at work has the most fantastic set of sleeves on her, the detailing is phenomenal and she looks great imo.

Very nice, very much an egyptian theme going on? Do you happen to have a recent photo of what your upper torso looks like now with all of them together?

To be honest you can do something with your tribal tattoo. Unless you've had more work done to it since then, there is plenty of potential for amendment.

It all kinda depends on how your personal sense of style changes as to what you do with them, but I see no reason you can't splash some color in those to fem them up a bit.  That said, I tend to enjoy trolling the internet for pictures of attractive ladies with ink and what you have isn't far outside the average.  I would suggest perhaps on the side one waiting till you have some hint of the possible curves that HRT could bring and then complement them with some background embellishments.  The others should be rather easy to add some flare to.

Yes I do have an Egyptian thing going lol. I just love the history and culture of it all. And not to mention the meanings behind them. No I don't have a picture with all of them together. I would take one now but I'm having a fat day   anywayyyy but yeah I guess you're right and all about today's standards with women and tattoos and no it's not that far out of the norm. I just think they draw a lot more attention to my upper body making it look wider than it already is. Oh how I wish I had wayyyy less muscle mass lol

I hang my art on the walls. Tattoos in my opinion are for people that cannot look into the future long enough to realize they might be making a mistake or that their art interest might change.

Tattoos. I got three large tatoos when I was younger - a half sleave and two big peices on my calves. I was active in the punk scene, and lots of girls had work done, so I never thought too much of it. Now that I am older and beginning my transition I really regret it. I am starting laser removal next Monday actually. First on my legs, then later on my arms. I am nervous, however, that the laser will make them worse...
