Endocrinologist as the primary care physician?

My therapist mentioned that my hormones might be covered if I designate my endocrinologist as my primary care physician. Is this true? Are there any other ways to get your hormones covered? Thanks

 Where are you from???  At least, the country.  If you are in the US, insurance plans differ so someone would have to read the detailed plan, which can be hard to even get your hands onto.

My insurance plan is a PPO.  I don't have to worry about a PCP.  I can see any plan doctor.  As it us, my endo is my point-of-contact physician.

I have Aetna and mine is covered. I do have a GP I have seen for 2 years now, I have yet to tell her I am seeing another doctor for HRT. My next appointment though in December I will be telling her. At any rate I have 2 doctors and regardless of who I see my insurance has been covering the co pay for visits and the medications (oh and I'm in the US too )

My endo is my gp although the reason has nothing to do with getting hrt covered and all to do with religion in medicine,
