Now I'm upset. I just got a new sweater that I love, and my mom just called it "manly"

Do you love it?  Then it shouldn't matter what she thinks.  If you love it, it doesn't matter what anyone says.  You know who you are.  Clothes are just clothes.

Why do you think your mother says the sweater is manly?

Why are you disappointed with her assessment of the sweater?

Do what I would.

Take it off, throw it at her and say "MAYBE YOU SHOULD WEAR IT THEN"

Not really. I think it takes a particular mother to find this funny..
