This makes me think of me and my brother...my brother is gay, and it breaks my heart to think of anyone ever discriminating against him. I think what people don't get is that they see a "homosexual" - they don't realize that the person has people who love them. My brother used to get guys hurting him at school, and he used to come home with bruises on his chest because the guys would give him "tittie twisters." It's really damn easy for someone who doesn't know a gay person to talk crap, but when you see someone you love go through that, your tone changes.
Similarly, my brother has always had my back too. He's told numerous people "I will have my brother's back to the day I die." (

lol) I remember another time I was crying and I told him that I felt like I was seen as subhuman because I was trans. He said "but that's just it. You aren't subhuman. You're the most human person I know! Because you put yourself out there and you live your life the way you want to, most people pack themselves away because they are scared. You're not subhuman. You're superhuman!"
