I want to get rid of my girl's underwear. I'm not packing and pre-T
What kind can I buy that you can wear a pad with? Or should I just wear a tampon
Thanks

I wear boxers, pre-everything, still wear them.

Before my periods went away I would just make sure I had a pack of briefs. They held the pad in all right, you just have to make sure you wrap the wings around the bottom. You can wear boxers and whatnot all the other times of the month. :)

Boxer briefs are nice and would work if you don't buy them too loose.

Depends on what you're used to using and comfortable with.  I need wings because I lead an active life (lots of working out and Taekwon-do with tons of kicks and the worry about my white dobok!!!!  lol).  If you need wings, Y fronts, or briefs, whatever you know them as.  If you don't need wings, boxer briefs would work fine too.  But like Jay said, make sure they're not loose.

You can absolutely use tampons if you like.  There's no rules regarding what trans guys use during hell week.  Personally, I can't use them, dysphoria stops me, but if you can use them and are happy about doing so - you can go for them instead if you choose.  The only rules that exist are safety rules - don't keep tampons in for too long (toxic shock syndrome risk).  There's also menstrual cups you can use.  They're reusable.  You insert them also and then just empty them and wash them out when needed.  They're not only better for the environment, they're better if you have any potential dysphoria about inserting/removing them if you need to do it less often.

I like American Eagle's underwear because it fits nice and is super comfortable. They are having a 2 for 20 sale right now too and have a lot of styles like athletic which is like boxer briefs but longer. I got a size too large but they still fit but you would want to er on the tinier side if you want to put a pad in them. I use tampons so I don't really know how well pads would work with them.

Briefs are good if you're used to wearing "women's/girl's" underwear. Gives you the ability to use pads if you want that, tampons if you want to use that too. Boxer briefs are good if you have problems with thighs rubbing (I do).

I use briefs when I'm on my period, the cheap kind, or boxer briefs sometimes

not during the hell times, I just wear whatever- trunks, boxers, boxer briefs, just not normally the briefs.
I've kinda got like the cheap hanes/fruit of the loom for hell week and some slightly nicer underwear (American Eagle and Evolve) for when I'm not on it.

I'd say for most guys, what they wear depends on whether they can handle a tampon. I cannot stand tampons because I find them uncomfortable and they make me super dysphoric, so I use underwear I can put pads in. Other guys who can handle the tampons better than pads because they don't want to see it or whatever their reason will just wear whatever underwear they like best and most of the time those guys seem to wear boxers. Of course there's no set rule or anything, just wear whatever combination will work best for you.

I wear boxerbriefs all the time, but when I use pads I wear briefs with them and over that a boxer( or boxerbrief). I don't really like wearing briefs on their own :p

I am a boxer guy all the way. I like the way they feel nothing tight or binder. I use tampons, have since about my 4 or 5 'period'; shark or hell week is a much better way to refer to it.  Much less dysphore for me using them, no seeing or feeling pads for a week.  Menstrual cup is too much for me.

When I first wore boxers it was really uncomfortable for me because I have never worn them before and there was alot of space. So what I do is wear panties and then put boxer briefs over them. Especially on periods that works for me.

Whichever type you do wind up going after, make sure you get the cheap throw-away type for that time. Even before I was allowed to go the 100% male clothes route (and it took so damn long only because my mom refused to let me go the unmentionables route too until a huge blowout in K-mart, 9th grade - we laugh now though so no harm done lmfao), I did that.

However, believe that there is a world of difference between the poor man's department store unmentionables and the upper-crust department store unmentionables. Point of fact, the more expensive "sport" kinds are simply just heaven. Cloud 9. Champions are my brand, they're perfection for a relatively reasonable cost (compared against the insanely more expensive 'designer' stuff). Just something to keep in mind. Treat yourself for when that time isn't around.

In my personal opinion and experience, Hanes are bottom of the barrel and I'm talking about comfort. Their shirts too actually. I'll never make the Hanes-mistake again.

I won't wear briefs because their shape triggers me, so I wear what Americans call boxer briefs. They look great and fit comfortably, but I always use pads without 'wings' in them. If you have to use the winged variety, then briefs are the way to go.

tampons are great if you can use them. shouldn't be uncomfortable if you manage to push it all the way in. i don't feel them at all, and my nether regions are more comfortable with it because they get more air with tampons than pads. i wish i'd found out that earlier, using a tampon for the first time was like a revelation to me. my underwear suddenly became completely dry, like it hasn't been since long before puberty. it's so wonderful when i don't have to see any product made specifically for women, other than when changing the things. and even that can be done very quickly and easily.

but it depends on the person. you should try all options that you can make yourself try, and see what works best. i thought i wouldn't like tampons, but that was before i tried them for real. my experience though, some guy here have more difficulties with them. just wanted to stress that you won't know unless you've tried.

I used to wear boxer briefs with a tampon and pad for extra leak security. They kept the pad in there well.
