Berserk

Hey all, this is a bit of an awkward question but I was wondering if there was anyone around who would feel comfortable giving me some info about STI prevention tips for trans women who are on hormones.

I'm putting together a resource for an org for queer and trans folks and while I've been able to find one place that has condom suggestions for trans guys who have had bottom surgery, I haven't been able to find one for trans women  :(

Basically I was wondering:

1) For trans women who are on hormones and who have not had bottom surgery, do you have any condom tips for others? For example, certain brand/size suggestions exist for trans guys with bottom surgery (f.ex. finding specific thinner/shorter than regular condom sizes). I was wondering if a trans woman is on hormones and experiences some changes in her genitals (whether size or otherwise), would that effect condom use for STI prevention? If so, how and what tips would you have for other trans women trying to figure out the best options for themselves?

2) If you're a trans woman who has had bottom surgery, is there anything you think other less experienced trans women should know about internal/insertive condoms (those inserted into your vagina) as far as STI prevention that might be specific to trans women?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any help any of you have to offer, and I hope it's not a too invasive question. It's just googling and going around health centres hasn't come up with much in the way of STI prevention tips, specifically on how condom needs may change for some trans women depending on HRT/surgery status.

As a retired medic on HRT, the only thing I can think of is make sure the lube will not erode latex condoms. Hope that helps?

Agreed. Otherwise the usual:
Testing
Limit your number of partners
Always use a condom (male or female as appropriate)
Use appropriate barriers for oral as well.
If you are chaffed/cut perhaps it's best to wait for another night.
