lol i dunno what to call this :P

well what's going on is today I'm gonna go get me some men's clothes.

i don't know why i feel nervous about it, i have bought mens clothes int he past but that was before i was out.

the seasons are changing here and I really don't have much to work with as far as jeans and shirts...

typicall i look like this everyday int eh winter, I'm a turtle neck whore. http://www.bananarepublic.com/products/res/thumbimg/classic-merino-wool-turtleneck-black.jpg turtle necks everyday for me. I'm not a manly man.  but knit sweaters man... heck looking at these pics of men in sweaters im gonna look pretty effin dapper.  I can't really get a binder... one they're kind of expensive and two my mom isn't really on board with it, im pretty flat too but you can still tell they're boobs so :/ :/ :/

anywho, right now I'm kind of being androgynous, cut my hair short but still dress in such a way that i could be male or female, and for now im comfortable with that. i dunno where i am getting at with this...

do you think it's a better idea to go for androgynous over full on passing in the early parts while your still mostly in the closet? has anyone else done that? like slowly transition yourself and your wardrobe so it's not like wabbam im a man now.

Its fine to start out andro before you're fully out. What's important is wearing what you're most comfortable in. :)

I am not fully out, I just wear what feels right that day (unless I am going to work, suits never feel right to me), sometimes it's full on "manly", other times andro,  and sometimes I might even wear a skirt.

First off if you're mostly flat you can take two sports bras and put one on the normal way and one backwards and it makes you look flatter... idk it's what I do anyway.

I'm still mostly closeted, but I wear all guys clothes. Strangers assume I'm a guy, and people who know about me just see me as a tomboy.

Like LearnedHand said, just do what makes you comfortable.

that's a good idea witht eh binding sports bras, ill have to try that.

yeah, that sounds good. i guess i just have this paranoia, im kind of a paranoid person. for a lot of things not just the trans thing, but the idea for whatever reason of drawing attention to myself or being asked is kinda spooky to me and i really don't know why. I'm comfortable with myself i should just do what's good for me not others. and now my roomate and pretty much all my close friends know im trans so it's not some mystery... i really just gotta buck up and get sh*t done, i can't just live in irrational fear of nothing.

luckily this forum kinda helps me solidify my dcisions for whatever reason. putting it out there and whatnot makes it easier.

I started out just dressing more masculine, cutting my hair, and wearing binders. Turns out that the further I went, the unhappier I got with being perceived as female and the happier I got with presenting as male.

Yup, I have done that and am still doing it. I started out with women's-clothes-that-look-like-men's clothes when I was 15, and have recently started adding men's-clothes-that-might-pass-as-women's-clothes once I realized the gender crap that's been plaguing me won't go away. I see it as a good subtle way to ease myself along until I work up the courage to officially come out. I figure that, if any of my friends give me crap about my wardrobe becoming an increasingly male one, I'll know who to steer clear of when I start socially and medically transitioning.
Like a zombie only dumber.
