Hello, I am new to actually using this website but not reading it's content.
I am searching for advice and support as no one I have told is willing to help me.
How do I push myself to take the plunge? I am scared I will regret it
l am 21 and I started talking to a psychologist when I was eighteen after a couple of sessions I quit.
I felt the need to help my mother as she has fibromyalgia really bad and my dad is a douche. So I feel obligated to try to defend her from stress, anger and try to keep her from getting depressed. I know these people are definitely not going to accept me especially since I live in Arkansas and the christia. I know I am not supposed to let things like this get in the way of what I should do but, I have always tried to be selfless for other people especially the ones I love.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Baby. if transition is what you want and you are of age find a good therapist and get started. You will look a whole lot better at the conclusion than I will. You will also get to enjoy the new you longer. I started at 47 (HRT) after family pressure's kept me from my dream. I will now look terrible and get to live my new life for a much shorter time. I will probably not even get to have any relationship's due to my late start. Please do it now, if you really want it. You will not regret the decision. It would make me happy knowing you are living your dream beautiful, young and free. BIG HUG!  :)

I agree 100% with Jessica (who is also my sweetheart and BFF.) Now on the contrary, you are starting young, which is good, but c'mon Jessica, you don't know how well the effects of HRT are going to be on you in a year. Keep positive.  :)

I can't give you any advice with regards to your family. As for "taking the plunge" as you put it, the best thing I can say is stop thinking about it that way.

Think of taking that first baby step, and then move to the next.

I lost my marriage, almost all my children, my church and my friends - who were in that church.  I had to do it for my own sanity and survival.  Sometimes we have to be honest to ourselves in spite of what the people around us want.
