Transition is about other issues besides changing one's physical appearance. I don't know what other things Nathan was dealing with but it seems that they were there. Transition is not for everybody. I have no desire to transition but I fully support those who do. I also would like to see post-op counseling, something that's not always discussed.

Like I said, I think it's the fact that his SRS didn't go as he wanted.  I don't think it has to do with the fact that he transitioned, as his quotes seem to clearly imply.  He was just extremely upset by the outcome of his SRS and how he thought it would only isolate him more, now that he can't have a normal penis (surgery complications) or a normal vagina- he is in  a spot where he can't have a normal part.  That can only be inflated by the fact that he was literally isolated by his family, which is probably how he ultimately came to the conclusion of suicide.

You are absolutely right on target with your comment here and on top of that he was the offspring of the most cold hearted mother on the face of the earth. Her attitude toward her child was a travesty and no doubt a sword piercing his heart. I came away with the feeling that they were disappointed in not having had a son, he was trying to fill the bill. The whole story was extremely sick and something that made me feel deeply saddened for that poor child. Forgive me if I got pissed off at anyone here, the whole thing was very disturbing.

I think it's important to make a distinction between suicide and euthanasia.  He was "put to sleep" by a medical doctor via the administration of an injection.  Suicide means death from self-inflicted harm.

Euthanasia is legal in Belgium, although it likely has gate-keeping involved as well.  It requires the permission of the courts, who apply a review process along the way.  I doubt if he would have had much success getting the courts' permission if he had explained his death wish as a feeling of deep anguish due to the lifelong rejection of his mother, while she favored his genetic male siblings.  It seems more likely to be grasped and believed by the courts if he said he was unhappy with the outcome of his surgery.  The truth may never be known.

Which is what I was saying was the primary cause- I merely said his mother's reaction toward him was an amplifier of said feelings

It is, I can't believe she would treat her son that way.

Or her daughter. Or any child, for that matter.  >:(

I think we can all agree about the "mom" in this case...I'd like to know what this "sex-change industry" is, in their view. (Since we know it doesn't exist).

I mean...there's a porn "industry"...a car-manufacturing "industry"...I don't know what a "sex-change industry" might be...
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
