Can the decay/decomposition, or death of an object be a beautiful thing, or not? If not, why not?

What is beautiful is that which springs forth from the remains.... new life.

Even stars get recycled (at least the bigger ones)

When people die. They decay. Maggots spring to life. Not sure that is beautiful. Certainly decays into dirt or dust like. Which can grow stuff, if your not buried 6 feet under. Then again if you die in like a forest, animals might eat you. Which would sustain life for maybe several days, unless you make the animal sick, in that case you might be vomited out. Not sure if any of that is beautiful. In the water, you might be swell up and be eaten by fish..... I guess I been watching too much CSI and Forensic Files.

My ashes will be spread below a beautiful oak tree.  It will live on. The green grass will grow every spring.  The deer will lay down there.  And I will finally be at peace.

certainly. it's beautiful.  new life is born and new gases, chemical fluids & compounds are formed.

Yes, death and decay can be beautiful.

I say this because I find beauty in imperfection. Decay is the advancement of imperfection.

Another side of the beauty of it is if you ever know someone who is dying and they handle it with dignity. That dignity is often beautiful enough to take away at least some of the pain in letting go.

Not everyone who dies has the option of dieing with dignity. For me, there is beauty in accepting this as inevitable.


Hope I said nothing stupid here.  As a side note, my dream is to die and have my last words be; "Alas. I die." Beautiful.  There goes my hope of having said nothing stupid.

Is that not somehow beautiful? Is it hideous or what-have-you strictly by a convention of, say, naming?
(Maggots sounds somehow, I don't know, not good.) But they so teem with life. Is this life thing a particularly hideous thing?
