I had an haematoma on my vagina and on the right side there is raw flesh. How long does it normally take to heal?

I know as I've said b4 that everybody heals at a different rate, just a rough estimate will do.

Thanks

As a former paramedic I can tell you it will be a while because of where it is at. Clothing, humidity and constant rubbing make healing a long time in coming. Keep it covered with Telfa Brand Pads (non stick) during the day when clothed, take any antibiotics prescribed ( I had to use Clindamycin) and if possible at the end of the day at home just wear a long T-shirt or nightgown and let it breathe without panties. I believe mine took around 3 weeks to get healed up fairly well and about 6 weeks before it was not a problem any more. This is only my experience though and like you said everyone is different. Mine was caused by the bite of a Brown Recluse spider on my tushie  hence the script for Clindamycin. I thought it would never heal. Good luck baby! BIG HUG  :)

Firstly I'm fairly sure that counts as a healing complication - so if you haven't already done so, I would at least inform your surgeon of the development.

As regards healing time it really depends on so many things, size, depth of dermal erosion, that without looking at it no one can say.

What can be said is that to enhance the healing rate you need to keep it clean and as dry as possible, and as open to the air as you can - so no ultra tight fitting undies etc...

I personally would also bathe the affected area in a dilute iodine or saline solution, to help promote healing, but don't do that if you have an iodine reaction, and absolutely don't use any strong antiseptics or indeed talc, as they will do more harm than good.

I'm guessing if you are worried enough to be posting about this, then the affected area is probably reasonably large, in which case the healing time is likely to be measured more in months than days. Also while you have an open wound you should be VERY VERY cautious about sexual contact with anyone you are not 100% familiar with, as your risk of contracting an STI from an infected partner will be pretty damn high until it heals.

So do take a lot of care.

I've been having salted baths, which I got told can help with the healing process of the haematoma I've got. I'll speak to the surgeon anyway because I've to have corrective surgery for a prolapse also  :)

For me letting the bits hang out in the air as much as you can helped me more then anything else i did.

It just hard being where it is. Keep it as dry as you can, clean and keep your schedule of what your doctor gave you.

Sitz baths are good. I used the medicated douches over the plan vinegar and water. But as said if you have reactions to any shell fish then you need to stick to the Plan douche.

I know you have been having all kinda of problems, i sure hope they settle down here soon for you.

We are always here to help best we can.
