Is it dangerous to bind whilst jogging?

I can't say officially since I don't bind or jog, but I would imagine depending on how long someone is jogging for, it would be best to be able to have all of the air support you can get but if a binder is enclosed around the lungs, it could be harder to breath jog.

Well binding isn't really 100% safe in the first place so it's hard to be specific. 

I bind when I go to Taekwon-do and I just wear a looser binder.  When I jog, I tend to jog in low light and just wear a sports bra and baggier soccer jersey.  I have a good one with a large logo on it that's a velvet type thing that sticks out and makes the jersey awkwardly bounce in that area.  Detracts from my chest ;).

I wouldn't start out jogging with a binder though.  I think that would be dangerous.  If you jog all the time and are used to how you react and when to slow down or take a break based on experience I think it would be fine.  But starting out I'd say point blank, VERY dangerous!  You could find yourself getting to the point where you start to panic because you can't get in enough air and then it's dangerous.  At that point you're talking about passing out and potentially cracking ribs.

The other issue is that I can say with certainty, binding makes anything you do much less effective.  I've determined my TKD fitness VS home workout fitness to be 65% at TKD and 100% at home.  At home I don't bind and I find myself being able to push myself a lot harder.  At TKD I overheat and I slow down when breathing is more of an issue.  It's why I'm so keen to get top surgery yesterday!!!!  Lol.

If the binder is tight, you can't breathe properly. Even if you can breath enough for walking around, you need more air while doing cardio. Go to FTM Gear and click on the sticky thread about pleurisy to hear some binding horror stories.

My binder is loose enough where I can breathe properly during workouts, but I wouldn't recommend trying to jog with one unless you're 100% sure you have enough space to breathe. If you want to me flat working out, try to get a few sports bras that are a little too small, and then a loose exercise shirt to help hide things. It won't be as effective as binding, but you should be able to properly breath.

Also. . . you can just avoid it all together by doing at-home workouts. :)

It would constrict your breathing, which isn't ideal for exercise. However, if it is looser and you don't have breathing problems it may not be too constricting. I'm part of the marching band and I wouldn't dare wear my binder while playing. This being said I sweat a lot and have breathing issues even though we usually meander rather than march.

Like it has been said above maybe work out at home if possible.

I had to choose between jogging with a bra, and giving up jogging. I (temporarily) gave up jogging.

I just couldn't face exercising without a binder, and wearing a binder restricts my breathing to levels that would be dangerous if I were jogging. I tried it once and I felt very light-headed and dizzy. That's not good for an asthmatic like myself. So no, I wouldn't recommend jogging with a binder.

As an alternative, I use the recumbent bikes at the gym to do a 'long, slow burn', i.e. an hour-long session whilst making sure my heart rate doesn't go above 65% of maximum. I can do that safely whilst binding with a relatively loose binder.
