Hey guys, havent been on here for a while, but thought that this place would be the best to ask this.
Today I was working my abs at the gym with a higher weight, around 120lb or so, and I felt like something was kind of hurting but it was so minor that I continued and finished about 4 exercises, 3 sets each. (plus hour of cardio).
3 hours later, I stood up from my chair and got some weird pain radiating from my bellybutton to the entrance of my, uh, vajayjay. lol. feels so awkward to say that. but anyways, it's still kind of going on, but less. felt like needles around the hole of it, and behind my bellybutton. I searched online, and people are saying many different things, but a lot say a pulled stomach muscle. I'm also very fearful of hernia, because I feel a small lump behind my bellybutton but it's been there for a few years now. Thing is, I'm sure I have OCD, so now I'm gonna be obsessing that something is really wrong with me, and until someone confirms it's not...yeah...lol.

Do you guys think it could be just a pulled muscle in my abs? Or maybe something related to T? Hopefully it's the former.

I wouldn't worry too much.. Give it a few days and if it's still hurting get it checked out. Probably just from your workout tho.

Agree with G.  Be mindful of it, but don't pay TOO much attention to it.  If you have new pains or sensations, unexplained pain, nausea/vomiting, changes in bowel habits or abnormal bleeding then you need to go to the emergency room.

I think you should get that lump checked out. And while you're at it, you can ask about the "pulled muscle" if it is still an issue.

Ice it. Pain and swelling subside, you are gold, just take it easy at the gym till fully healed. If not, the pain worsens or you have difficulty moving, get it checked out. Good luck, you'll have an awesome gym story to tell when healed up :)

I had a pain similar to that twice. Definitely get it checked out within a few days if it doesn't get better. THe first time, it was just a pulled muscle. The second, it was appendicitis. Be ready for anything when you go in to see your doc about it.
Hey, you've reached Lauren's signature! If you have any questions, want to talk, or just need a shoulder to cry on, leave me a message, and I'll get back to you.

Thanks guys, after a night's rest I feel better and now just regular muscle soreness, although the pain behind my belly button extending down is still kind of there but much less severe. The lump is just as small as it was two years ago, nothing changed. I'll bring it up to my doctor next week.

Has anyone ever had any injuries from ab workouts?

Probably not related but I thought I'd get this out there:
When I signed my inform consent papers for testosterone, my doctor talked about phantom pelvic pain... it's nothing to worry about, but apparently extremely common amongst peepz on the ftm spectrum who are using testosterone.
Just a thought. If the pain worsens, definitely speak with a medical professional.

Did the doctor mention exactly what was going on like what the pain would be from, and which area specifically?
I'm the type of person who wants to keep a strict watch on everything during this process (which will be a lifelong process xD). Everyone including doctors keeps saying as long as you're extra careful about your health, and watching out for any symptoms, you should be good spending your life on T.  ;D

don't worry, it's not your vajayjay that you feel pain in, it's the urethra... males will feel pain in the tip of their penis if it's the same type. a sharp pain as if someone stabbed knives into both places at the same time, or pulled hard on a string that connected the two places.

there's apparently "only" three nerve groups and a urachal remnant, that connect the belly button and urethra. muscle damage can easily make the muscle pinch a nerve. if the pain goes away, that's the most likely explanation. a problem with the urachal remnant might also be a cause for pain, but in that case, the pain isn't likely to go away. best to get it checked if the pain doesn't go away completely.

recurring pain for seemingly no reason at all would most likely be a neurological problem. if it's a neurological problem, most doctors are likely to tell you that the pain only exists in your head. i can replicate the pain by digging my finger deep into my bellybutton. should be proof enough that it's real, but...
