So, apparently my mother is homophobic.
  Which generally isn't good news.
But, it also confuses me.

She's against it, but then she does stuff with other women.
   I don't understand. It doesn't make sense.

Also, it would be a bad idea to tell her about being trans, wouldn't it..

O right , well you dont know that , when I came out I didnt say I was trans because trans seems to make people instantly think cross dresser , well the peepz near me I just explained to her how I feel , and I never use the term sex change , instead I use gender reassignment , I am careful what terminology I used , maybe dont expose to much at once so it doesnt all come as a huge shock ,

It sounds to me like you ought to set the table before you sit down for dinner.  I would suggest that you prep your mom with as much information as possible, before completely coming out.

because alot of people dont understand , how can you expect them to theres not alot of awareness just preconcived ideas based on words such as ''trans'' and ''sex change'' , my mums the same you change the game to fit your goal

To bring it up you could say something like '' have you seen angelia jolies daugther living as a boy called john I think its great how they both support there child '' --- theres a article somewhere not sure if its a lie or not , but maybe the idea of it being accepted by a star might help ?

exactly , well thats a good step , at least when you come out your apperance wont be changing TO dramatically , that might help
