I love painting my nails. I'm pretty good at doing my own, but I've gotten hooked on shellac. I had  them done  in pink, lavender a couple times, now I switched to apple red. They're modestly short, I'm trying to grow them out.

I still do my toenails myself with colors all over the map. This time they're blue.

Natural. After several weeks of using one different colour every week they were quite busted and yellowed, even with the base polish. I'm keeping them clean this time, maybe just gloss.

This was my last one:

I won't post up a picture of my nails. They have about three coats of a really nice Max Factor pale pink iridescent varnish on at the moment but...

And there always seems to be a but...

Next door's daughter started selling Avon products so I decided to try them out as the colours are a bit lush. Unfortunately they marmalised my nails so they are weak, feeble and have been delaminating for about a month now. If anyone can suggest anything that will help I will be massively grateful and could probably be persuaded to send a bottle of (delicious and utterly befuddling) country wine your way. Shipping restrictions considered.

Here's what works for me and keeps both my nails and hair healthy. I take a good Womens one a day vitamin, along with a good hair skin and nails vitamin. For the one a day its Womens Formula 100% One A Day Vitamins, and for the hair skin and nails it's AppleNutrition's Longer Stronger Hair & Nails. Both can be had at Wal-Mart for around $20. In addition to this a Fish Oil suppliment twice per day provides pliability to the nails to keep them from cracking or splitting easily while performing tasks. These three things work in conjunction with each other, and once your friend starts them she should see drastic improvement in about a month. My nails are like lil knives on the end of my fingers and grow nice and strong.

Let me guess, your friend is also having hair problems with frizz and split ends as well. These vitamins will also help out with that as well. As said it takes about a month to get the full effect but she may see improvement in as little as two weeks. If need be, I can send you photos of the products I use. Just pm me.

Hope it helps

Ally ;)

I try to take good care of the nails more now, I used to be a biter so I would keep them short. I'm also a but for sysmetry so I have to get them just right. I don't like how short the pink part is on my nails though. My girl friend has very nice long nails even if llshe cuts them very short. Mine always look short even when I grow them out.

I am a weird girl, I like video games and skirts, swords and nail polish, sharks and black lace...not sure if that's normal, definitely sure that I don't care. =P
