Late last year, the council debated inclusion of gender identity and sexual orientation in the Fort Dodge Human Rights Ordinance. After some vigorous public commentary, the council voted to table the issue until the state took action of its own. Now the issue must return for a council vote next week, according to Maurice C. Breen, Fort Dodge city attorney.

"I'll untable it Monday," he said, noting that the terms of the tabling had been met.

Wow!  That is impressive when Fort Dodge, IA is debating GLBT rights? Can you imagine something like that even five years ago? No way!

I never heard of that place.

I'll be impressed when Mayberry openly debates GLBT rights. Then Floyd the Barber can stop being so nervous.
