I'll never forget when the U.S. decided to move to the metric system (I believe celcius measure is part of this, either way, your post reminded me of this). I just loved how the American people in unison decided................. uhhh, no we're not.

I wish we could do that with other stupid government decisions!

BTW, can you buy an American car these days without that needless kilometers conversion on the odometer? I still couldn't tell you how to convert between the two and it's been in my cars for 20 years. We're Americans, we're lazy in this way!

The Hubble telescope did need repair when it was first launched, and may have needed it since, but I'm pretty sure she's making a joke that because it's American made, it can't convert between different measurement units.
