LoriLorenz. It looks like your endo is following older guidelines which required someone to live as the gender they were transitioning to for a year before surgery or hormones. For me to get on T, I saw a specialist in hormones for transgender individuals last month. (At the time I had just started living as a man). I had also been to a therapist for about five months and had top surgery in Dec. I had a physical today and next week I get my first T shot so it was pretty quick for me.

^This. My therapist follows WPATH and, with my health provider's backing and no history of depression (which WPATH demands therapists address before administering/supporting/suggesting HRT, I was in and out of the therapist's office in 2 sessions in about a 1-week period, from first appointment to last. My first appointment was on a Wednesday, my next was like, the following Tuesday or Thursday. Needless to say, I just requested I be referred to him again from my endo about a top surgery letter. Also, my health care provider operates under informed consent, so that also helps.

That's interesting, since my Endo is young and new in the biz... Well, hopefully things will be on the upswing after my visit with the head shrinker. I'll look up the WPATH stuff too. Thanks for the words, guys.

G, looking good man. Is that facial scruff I spy on your chin? I'd go back to the longer locks from your first pic, looks better on you and it will help hide any hint of feminine skull. Not saying it's noticable, but if anyone wonders, the style helps.

LoriLorenz,

Canada may operate differently than the U.S. when it comes to starting hormones.  I know it is very different in the UK.  There is much delay and having to have counseling first.

WPATH are a group of health care providers, that write "standards of care" for working with trans people.  It is not something a medical providers need to follow, they are just written as what is thought to be the "best practices" for medical care for trans people.

Thanks. Yeah I've got some growing on my chin and mustache. It's still mostly light in color tho. That 2nd pic was the day after a haircut so it's not usually that short.

Looking pretty good, though the pics are a bit on the fuzzy side. I would actually say your pre-T pic passes almost as well as on T.

well i pretty much passed my whole life even as a little kid (with a shoulder length long hair cut as well) everyone who didnt personally know me "thought" i was a boy.  Even when people who didnt know me referred to me as my parents' "son" saying "your son" and "he" is handsome or whatever they said etc, my parents just let it go at that and didnt correct them.   They always supported me being a "tomboy", never made me wear a dress cause i didnt want to, bought me boys toys cause i wanted them and >-bleeped-< like that.  I told them i "wanted" to be a boy when i was really young, then came out as trans when i learned what being trans was when i was 10 years old.  Am really grateful for their support.

@G i think you could totally pull of the same hairdo in the first pic- your features look way more masculine but I think that you still looked pretty manly, just younger in the first :D  Your second pic reminds me of my friend Ryan in the army ha ha ha, he's pretty beefy

@AleksiJason dude you are so super swol in the second pic. The difference is so distinct especially since your expression is almost dead same XD I hope I can get as borad shouldered looking in a couple more years, you look like a rocker from some metal band or something with that manly long hair ;)
You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.

I've been lifting light weights just for tone about 6 years now and started lifting heavy weights on and off for 2 years now.  I read on the net when u build muscle in your body your face also becomes more muscular and masculine.  I'm not sure how that works.  Also say if you focus on your upper body.  As you gain muscle in your upper body you also gain (to a lesser extent obviously) muscle in your lower body/legs even if you aren't working them out directly.  It's true too because I never workout my legs since i have naturally muscular legs but my upper body was lacking so i needed to focus on that to get more in proportion.  But as i gained in my upper body my legs also got more muscular.  Not a huge difference but noticeable.

It's been one year on T and I'm feeling awesome with all my physical changes. I started working out more consistently after starting T, and it's a great confidence boost that adds swagger to my steps every day. xD I wanted to show more of the body shape changes here, which is why there are a bunch of pictures of my shameless flexing in the change room mirrors.

My amazing girlfriend was the one who compiled the timeline for me while I'm writing my exams. :)

Thank you! I always feel a little embarrassed at my old pictures, but I finally feel like I've changed enough to not feel ashamed of them.
