I have been wearing non-underwire bras exclusively since the surgery. Notwithstanding this, I encountered a potentially hazardous and potentially psychologically devastating adverse event.

When I saw my surgeon several days ago, he spotted an irritation under the left breast of one of the internal sutures.

It was 'mechanically' induced by my bras and apparently had the potential of creating a serious infection.

This could have necessitated removal of the implants.  :o :o :o :o :o :o

The prospect of that scared the living hell out of me.  :o :o :'( :'(

He instructed me to cease from wearing bras for a few days and whilst the incision sites are healing, wear the bras so that the 'band' rests lower than the incisions and additionally, place a piece of gauze under the portion of the band closest to the incisions.

He instructed me to monitor the area of concern and if it remained unchanged or actually has worsened, contact him tomorrow for a prescription of antibiotics.

But when I examined the site today, it is evident that the problem is resolving itself. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

But I'll tell you what, girls: The very idea of having those implants removed was nearly devastating merely to contemplate, when he stated this possible necessity.  :'( :'( :'( :'(

I have suffered enough in this mode of existence and that would have been absolutely devastating.

My surgeon recommends that TSs not wear bras the first two months or so.

THANK YOU.  :)

I hardly think that I need to apprise you of how devastating that I would feel, if the worst was to occur and the implants needed to be removed.  :o :o :o :o :o

Thank God for my sisters, indeed.

With my love, honey,

Rhonda

It is unimaginable almost! There has to be a more dire word than devastating.
