It is normal, and it is common, to see adversaries everywhere.

It is the nature of the person with a cause, to make everyone they and us.

But it is not the truth.

Walk down the street today and chances are fairly good, not one single person will give a damn about you sufficiently to even notice you existed at all.

They will not be sneering at you or laughing at you, they won't even see you to begin with.

Because most people tend to be caught up in their own private existence, too busy thinking their own thoughts.

Hard to comprehend, but it is the truth.

Because people generally see what THEY want to see.
People tend to not notice things, as there are not even aware to look.
And some people simply are too busy just being a faceless meaningless slave to the system.

I have watched this experience countless times.
How many people do you know, REALLY know anything about modern telecommunications?
No I mean cutting edge companies and cutting edge services and their competition?

I don't have cable service, as it's a stupid waste of money. No DSL is actually not worse. No the service provided by the big companies is not always what they claim. My ISP is a minor company from Quebec. I get better service from them, for a better price. I shopped around. I shopped around expertly. I watch all my TV via Netflix. A lousy 8 bucks and your cable TV is a joke. No don't mention you need it for the sports. No don't mention Netflix doesn't have everything. I pay 5 bucks to a service called Unblockus. As such, I am able to watch Netflix as per any country on the planet. No I am not stuck with just Netflix ala Canada. I fill in any of the blanks by acquiring the shows through newsgroups. No I don't miss out, and don't care what over paid lawyers get to argue about.

I am not a sheeple. My combined Phone, Internet, TV entertainment services bill, costs less than any one of the 3 to a normal person.

Now I didn't come here to talk about communications technology though. I came here to talk about 'sheeple' in addition to those that are either thick, or oblivious, or potentially all of the above.

When I walk out the door, MOST of the people I walk past will not even see me. I never recall anyone I pass, why should they remember me?
When we get misgendered, often the person is barely paying attention if at all. It's not a direct attack, it's them simply unable to focus any longer than the minimum. Maybe they are just not taking in even noticing the positive markers that you are not 'typical'. My voice sounds nothing like a woman's for instance. People are just not known to spend a lot of time wondering.

I have had people mention my appearance favourably. But then they have all been social contacts that are used to me, friends with me and are unlikely to be intentionally hostile to me.
Yes there WILL be people that will definitely react negatively. The key is to remember, they won't be tapping into the vast store of humanity any better than I can.

Because people are sheeple. I've seen people CONTINUE to support services that were clearly inferior, clearly more expensive and clearly lacking, all because they are simply used to doing so. I think the same problem exists for the TG community. I would be genuinely surprised if were able to actually find a dozen people that knew a damned thing about TG persons and our concerns at all. Common ordinary people that is. Professionals don't count :)

People don't go looking for trouble. People are often not even aware of half the problems swirling around them.
But the media does it's best to make news items sensationalist and immediate and urgent. The true test, is to ask people about newsworthy names, 3 months later and match them up with the news they were connected with, and see if they even remember.

Right now, the biggest concern in my life, is the lousy way shoes are made. My winter boots, which I thought still had plenty of life in them, I find there is a hole in the heel. The same ole crap, the sole was hollow spaces, to make them lighter I am sure they claim, and to make them cushionier. What it has done, is render my shoes no longer any good. After only a single damned winter. I paid nice money for the shoes before them. They fell apart the same way. It is not relevant if you paid 50 or 150, they are all made the same way. They all feature hollow honeycombed soles, and the moment you walk on them too much, they deteriorate and just don't last. Work shoes in youth featured soles that were solid hard rubber. It took me 10 years to wear out boots like those.

So I of course worry, do I spend overly on new male pattern boots? Is there even a value in buying several times more expensive female shoes made in my size. Do I cave in and start wearing running shoes, and cheap ones like the wife wears, and just ditch them annually without a care for longevity.

That's the level of my day to day concerns about being TG. I am not going to walk to the mall, and agonize over being unable to walk into the ladies rest room at Target. Nah, if I am smart, I borrow the employee rest room at Gamestop, my friend is the manager there. Or the rest room at the hobby store. Some issues are just not issues until we make them in some cases. I wonder if sometimes we actually are guilty of buying our own hype.

I read of girls being denied entry into a bar all because they were TG. I wouldn't WANT to go into a bar that would refuse me.
I would immediately leave no interest in supporting ANY business that thinks they can discriminate. Hell I will discriminate with my money too.

But I wonder, do we over play some things?
I have yet to experience a single negative response.
Am I really that oblivious too?
Or is it we see things that are not always there?

I think most people tend to fall into the category of not for or against, or even aware there was a choice.
Well being TG is no treat, but becoming separated has sure caused me more trouble that being TG ever will be. So if I post, consider it me trying to distract myself from being lonely, not my needing to discuss being TG. I don't want to be separated a lot more than not wanting to be male looking.

Lo

I notice that when I stay in my room all day, playing with my cat and drawing, nothing negative happens to me for some reason.  ;)
