Sometimes my mind goes out for a walk and brings back some ... different thoughts.  My mind had this thoughton a chain and asked if could bring this idea home.

This morning, I was thinking about just how many dimensions there are to being a crossdresser or transgendered or transexual.  (For the sake of brevity, I am going to lump all categories into the broad descriptor of TG.  No offense is meant or intended.)

There are 4 basic dimension we all live in: length, width, height and time.  With diet and exercise, we can control width :D.  Homo-sapien sapiens can only move forward in time.

A fifth category is spirituality. Whether we are athiest, fundamentalist, mono-thiestic, poly-theistic or anywhere in between, this shapes who we are and how we interact with other people.  Sometimes it chages with age.  Sometimes it becomes mor firmly rooted.

Category 6 would be gender.  Most of us here have had the priviledge, no matter how painful it was, of living in both a male and female gender role.

How many of us find it easier nowadays to understand both genders?  We HAVE walked that extra mile in both our brother's shoes and our sister's heels.  Are issues such as sexism, racism, homophobia, etcetera more understandable because we live in more dimensions than the average person?

How many of us are more accepting of people today than before we came to accept our unique nature?

How many of us have become peacemankers as a result of who we are?

How many of us have become more active in demanding justice and equality for all people?

Being transgendered is a gift.  We have expereinced twice as many dimensions as the average person.

I'll stop my rambling now.

Sweetie, I may have been born with what appeared to be "male parts" but I have NEVER understood men! I didn't then and I don't now. (That's just me!)

The other three points are just part of who I am. I couldn't say if they would have been there otherwise - no idea because then I wouldn't have been ME! (And if you understood THAT, then YOU have problems!  :o )

I think I have problems then because I underand what you said! :icon_eek:  That, though, comes as no surprise.  Ask any of my students and they will readily agree that I have problems! ;D

I'll have to say that like Northern Jane I've never really understood men either. I have some inklings but I never really played the role with any firm understanding, just kinda walked through the part as it were. Someone like Deb probably can relate to were you're coming from.

Hey folks! I confess that I can't understand women, but because unfortunately(for me) I'm bio girl I was surrounded by girls-heard their secret stories, survive their bio problems(damn hate it), so yes it's a gift in some way –but still as I said I'm dunce with relationships-especially in love. Anyway  girls are more open to me then to a bio guy but I can't say I'm satisfied-they don't know the truth-maybe they suspect but still don't know it, and if they knew, would they be so open to me?Guess not.:(
