How do you sign up as a newbie member on this? I've realized there's probably some crucial kind of information I skipped when I registered.

Normally, it's fill out the information so you can post, put what you feel you should on your profile, introduce yourself in the "Introductions" forum and read the rules they automatically send that to you from the introduction post.  So, whatever you missed, go back and pick up.
