Sorry for chipping in here, but I had the same worry but in reverse a few years ago so thought I might be able to help.

Do you have self service checkouts in America? All most all supermarkets do here in the UK and that's how I brought my underwear because there doesn't have to be any interaction with other humans.

When I lived at home I either had to handwash in the sink, just chuck some washing powder/liquid in and rub things around until they're clean and rinse well. Make sure you have something to carry them out of the bathroom in if someone's likely to spot you carrying them back to your room, I forgot once and putting wet underwear on to smuggle them past parents wasn't a fun experience! I dried them by hanging them up in the hottest part of the room, which shouldn't take long if you have heating. If I knew everyone was going to be out for a while I'd use the 15 minute cycle on the washing machine to speed things up.

The self service checkout at Meijer has saved my skin many times; buying female clothing and products. It helps immensely.
Hey, you've reached Lauren's signature! If you have any questions, want to talk, or just need a shoulder to cry on, leave me a message, and I'll get back to you.

If you have a sister that wouldn't notice a pair or two of her's could disappear so you can get an idea about sizes. My sister left for collage and left quite a few clothes when she did so until I bought my own all my clothes came from her. So if you have a sister that's about the same size as you, you may can "borrow" a pair just be careful because if she is anything like my sister she would kill you if she found out... :P
And I started doing my own regular laundry before I started washing my fem clothes so that it wouldn't look weird, and I always wait till late at night to do it.

I'm trying to get the courage up to get my own pretty underwear. Any suggestions? I'm so sick of boxers
Love,
Kayla

took me an hour of pacing around the panty section looking like a complete weirdo until I mustered the courage to get a pack of underwear.  This was like 5 years before I started HRT.  I had a buzz cut and was 0% passable.

I padded the purchase with some chips and salsa to make it look as if my primary reason was not to buy panties LMAO

Sadly, I did pretty much the same thing a few days ago buying makeup and earrings. Tried acting like I was buying for someone else. :/

In time all these worries will vanish and shopping will be second nature. I used to have all these worries but I just did it and kept on doing it and now it is second nature and no one ever gives me so much as a second glance. I even got my makeup done at a makeup counter. It prolly helps that I look 95 percent female (haven't had laser so, I'm 5 percent off lol).

Oh, also i got my panties at Asda Walmart (UK) if that helps...? The George clothing section seems quiet most of the time... Even still, i felt like everyone was watching me :O

Good News, I went to Walmart and got panties! One of them was even a thong! There's also a really cute pair that is blue with white stripes that has little ribbons on them and lace ;D I'm wearing them at school right now :) Then I went to CVS and bought a three pack of basic cotton ones in different colors so I now have six pairs of my own! Hopefully I don't get caught by my parents, they feel to incredible and somehow right for me to go back to wearing male underwear ;)

I remember my first panties..

They were very boring.. plain cotton white with little bow on the front.. was around 16 at the time. I used to love wearing them

I still got those panties.. but they don't fit anymore.. grown since 16, plus HRT has given me wider hips

@kaylagirl0806-  I hope you try the thong on... they are little weird to wear at first, but you get use to them.. and will not even feel them and I think they are very comfortable.

Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was
