This is simply marvellous. Even though it's intended for artists, as I read it I realised it could apply to pretty much everything - including and perhaps especially gender transition...  :)

Please check it out... Be friends with failure

"The Master has failed more times than the Beginner has even tried."

Wise words.

But I think that makes me a Grandmaster.  :-\

OMG! I got to this line: "Whoa! Fail! You suck at talking!" and I burst! LMAO!

That was great! It really does have a lot of wisdom in it. :)

Love it!!!

And yeah, definitely applies to transition. I felt like that also the first few times I went out... kind of like "OMG what the hell am I doing, I can't do this, I should just give up," where as time went on I slowly got better and better at it, and I'd look back at those initial attempts and almost chuckle at how hilariously bad my first attempts at "passing" were. But if I hadn't gone through that stage, had never tried, I never would have made it to that point where I could look back and laugh. I'd still be there.

That was very charming. My hero Adam Hughes said something like "everyone has 10,000 horrible drawings inside them, so get through those and you're on your way."

Lo

All true stuff!

I'm always charmed by the folks that go through people's sketchbooks and expect to find page after page of masterpieces instead of awful doodles and stick figures, lol.
