Days without shaving B4 electro??

I'm about to have my first electrolysis appointment on Friday. I have shaved for a few days, but I'm feeling really gross. If I shave tonight (Tuesday) will there be enough hair for Fridays appointment. Also blond facial hair so no laser. I know YMMV, but can anyone tell how long they let it grow. I'm feeling SO gross right now.

My clinic always suggested I just come in with the day's growth. I can't speak for everyone, but it might not be as bad as you fear.

At first it was one day, now I have to do 3 days as it's growing very slowly now due to increased HRT and not much left to go.

Basically my electrologist told me that the longer each whisker is, the easier it is to go after it cleanly. She seemed to think 3 days would be enough.

My electrolycist wants my whiskers to be 1/8 to 1/4 inch (5-10 mm if my internal conversions are working correctly).  This requires three days without shaving.  Which is terrible.  I felt wretched when I went in the first time, having let my full face grow for that length of time.  Then I discovered how little she was able to treat at a time, so subsequent appointments have been easier.  For example, you could let a square inch under your chin grow (barely noticeable) and shave the rest and probably be fine for a one or two hour session.  I'd suggest calling your electrolycist and seeing what she has to say about how much to leave unshaven.

It'll be worth it, though, to be done shaving in the long run. 🙂

Thanks for all the replies! I rescheduled and talked to the electrolysist. She was so nice and told me to shave Friday morning to let the hair grow for Monday afternoon. I'm feeling really happy to have this part of my transition scheduled. Thanks again for all the encouraging replies.

I usually schedule my electro for afternoons. The day before I shave lightly early in the morning and the hairs length is enough by the following afternoon. Of course ymmv.
