Can you ever get over bullying?

I have been bullied for the majority of my life. It has knocked my self esteem but I can deal with that ok. I rarely think about the bullying incidents in particular, but more about how rubbish it made me feel and how I hate the people who did it. I went out recently and had to spend an evening with 2 people who used to bully me. I have no idea if they recognised me, but I recognised them. They used to threaten and call me names online and 1 of them chased me home with a big group of people and followed me around school. This happened about 2 years ago and I thought I was over it but I'm not. I was fighting back the fear and tears the other night and tried to remain calm. Will I ever get over this bullying or will the feelings resurface when I see my old bullies? I've been bullied by a wide range of people so I worry this will happen every time I see one of them. Is there any way to get over bullying or ease the pain?

It always resurfaces for me, so I don't go there.

It get's better with time,my school days were a misery with bullying and fights.By seeing these people you are showing them you have no fear of them now and they no longer have any power over you.
