Hi guys, I have a problem that I think it could both be fixed or not. It's about my height, my legal documents and my family acceptance. I think it might be your problems too so I think it would be helpful we could chat about this.

I'm 21 years old and currently living in Vietnam, Asia. My parents are both Vietnamese so they are not tall much, my Dad is bout 5"5 and my Mom is 5"1, mine is 5"1 1/2 and that depressed me much. I feel small in my own country, guys here are about 5"5 - 6"0 and I feel really upset about my height. I'm thinking about doing stretching and using Calcium ( i used calcium since I was 14 but nothing happened ), to get some few inches more. My dream is to become a real guy, I just rewind to when I was 6, i tried to pee like a guy and since there, I realized I could never have a penis to do so if things naturally happens. I want to do sugery, but I've to save for years may be it's 30 years old to do so, I'm afraid it's too late to get body transformed fully. I have a girlfriend already and she's really good to me. The reason I want to get taller is just to get safe look for her, people can put discrimination on me, but not on her. But after some activities I feel hopeless about my height. You guys have any experience about getting taller please give me some guides..

Second thing is, I'm about to moving to US, Honolulu, HI following my Mom, but about 5-6 years later. I dont know if there was any trans-gender sugery doctor there, and I dont know whether they could allow me to change my name, gender in my documents or not. I think I would do sugery there, because in Vietnam they dont allow trans persons to change name or gender or their passport so that is very hard for them to have legal docs.

Third thing is, my family is Catholic and they have very narrow view on LGBT due to something they were taught when they were younger. I want to get fine with my transition and want to make them understand. More than that, I want them to open their heart than follows what their narrow mind tells.

I want some guides from you guys. I really have no experience about this.

Thank you alot.

If you have used calcium since you were 14 and you are 21 now and nothing has happened since, what makes you think anything is going to happen by further use?  As far as I know using calcium is not linked to an increase in height.  If you are done growing there is nothing that can increase your height aside from a very costly and painful surgery that at most will give you a few inches.

Even if you can't have surgery till 30 or later that is not too late.  There are people on this site that have started their transitions much later than 30.

Well most people know Asians are smaller, as a rule. Calcium or anything else is not going to work. I'm 5'1". I'm don't really like being short, but it isn't any big deal. I tell people that I am vertically challenged. I don't think people care tbh. Some people wear lift shoes, but frankly I don't think they are worth bothering with. They don't look comfortable and I have foot problems.

I don't know re surgery and so on. It's probably there is someone who does top surgery, but I don't know. It doesn't matter your age. I know someone who got his bottom surgery at 63. We have a group of trans guys who are all over 40. Some of us are doing well and having surgeries in our 40s, 50s, and 60s. It isn't too late.

There are a lot of posts re: family. But every family is different. My sister is very conservative and religious and strange thing she accepted it, but others do not.
