A few months ago I had decided that I was going to go full time in the New Year. Now with being out so much, I'm getting a little anxious, and I'm thinking about going full time in December, but I've got some family coming down for Christmas, and I'd like to give my parents and my extended family a nice holiday without any complications, so I'm not sure which way to go.

I think you may know my answer.

What better time than to give them the gift of their daughter?

Hi Gina,
I would have to agree with Cindy Christmas would be a great opportunity to go full time, as Cindy said what a wonderful gift.

It does sound like an excellent idea. Coincidentally, I was just thinking yesterday about leaving my coming out letter under the Christmas tree for my parents for Christmas. Y'know I just may do it. It would be a really nice gift to give them.  :)

Y'know I was actually thinking about going full time more around the beginning of December, but after some thought and persuasion I think it would be a nice gift for my family to give them a daughter for Christmas. :)

Being me, and I worry a lot... What if they don't take it as a gift but as something else and it just goes over all the wrong ways? Christmas usually brings out either the best or worst in people and if it doesn't go over well.. well I hope you are prepared for either situation and I do hope the best for you.

Thanks for your concern Jerred. But yes, I am prepared for either situation. Acceptance or rejection. Hopefully it will be acceptance of my situation, and I'll be surrounded with love.  :)

I was kind of wondering if I over stepped my bounds lol. I didn't mean you shouldn't do what you think is best for you, and I wish you all the best!

No you didn't over step your bounds Jerred. I'm still going through with it. I was just merely saying that either way I can accept their decision.

Gina,

Congrats on your decision to go full time! It's great that you can start off the new year with a fresh start.  :)
However, I undertand why you might be reluctant to do this during such a traditionally festive holiday.

Still, I've always found that big news is better delivered in person so I say go for it! Good luck with everything!

I would never do something like that. There is way too much drama in the holidays, too much family, too much planning and stress and emotions and screaming and nerves and everything else. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. I think this is definitely a case where discretion is the better part of valor. One time my sister announced that she got engaged at Christmas and that was an epic disaster.

Thanks for your vote of confidence Shaina. Yeah I guess I am starting off the New Year with a fresh start. Hopefully my parents won't be too embarrassed when they open the manilla envelope and see the 9 pages flutter out telling them that I'm going to be their new daughter and that the decision has been made by myself and my therapist. I was thinking about including a photo as well. Or would that be too much? At least I'll be around family members.  :)

I respect your thoughts Tiffany. But I honestly think that this may be the best way to do it.

I find this to be a good decision making tool. If you ask someone's advice and then don't like it, that's a good compass for the direction your heart is truly pointed.

Good luck Gina. Though now you HAVE TO tell us how it goes.  :)
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Belive me, it's been a tough road, and I do believe that my heart is truly pointed in the right direction.

I was talking with a female friend last week (whom I've known for 6 years) and she comes from Thai, so she is more familiar with Ladyboys. Now she told me to come back dressed and she would decide if I'm passable. This morning I walked into her store,  and she almost asked me "What can I do for you ma'am?" and then she realized that it was me. She told me that I was very passable. Then she went and got her husband and told him that she'd like to introduce him to her friend. He couldn't take his eyes off of me, like he vaguley was famialar with me, but he just didn't know where, until his wife told him that I was there the other day and she used 'he', and then he realized who I was.  :o So that just gave me more strength to be who I am.  :)

Don't worry family, day after Christmas I'll be posting one way or another.

I've been giving this a lot of thought, and with such good results every time I go, I'm going to be talking with my therapist next week, and if I can get him to agree with me for support, I may be going full time by the end of the week!  :icon_dance:

I spoke with my therapist and he was at least supportive of my decision to go full time but he also gave me all the scenarios of what my mom would say because he knows the way she is. But I simply told him that I'm ready for all that she has to throw at me. And so the next day I gave her my coming out letter and unfortunately it wasn't a good reception.  :(
