Hello world. I introduced myself last week with my birth name, which I still use almost exclusively in real life. But here, and with a couple of close friends and my gender therapist, I'm trying out a new name. Adam. From the Hebrew "adama" meaning "ground". This is the name my parents picked out for me had I been born biologically male. I like it. It seems to "fit" more than any of the other names I had previously pondered. And it keeps me connected to my roots, to the person my parents considered I might be before I was even born. Maybe they even whispered it to me in the womb, testing the sound as it rolled off of their tongues. This is just the trial part of the process, to see how I respond to being called by another name. Nothing is  "official", whatever that means. :)
