EEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Today I had a doctor's appointment, and she wrote me a prescription for estrogen!  ;D

I'm sitting on it, though, even though I know I should shut up and take it.

Congrats. just got mine today too :)

My doctor is putting me of half doses for the first month to allow things to adjust (Spironolactone and Estradiol  ) and then check blood work  after a month on it to see how I react to it. All goes well, then full dose.

That seems like a lot of spiro, but I'm not sure we're supposed to talk about dosages here.

That seems like a lot of spiro, but I'm not sure we're supposed to talk about dosages here.

One of the handbooks I received from Callen-Lorde published by the Vancouver Coastal Health, Transcend Transgender Support & Education Society and Canadian Rainbow Health Coalition agrees on the amount I was prescribed to start off. (It was on the higher end of the beginning amounts.)

I took off the amounts as someone messaged me about were not suppose to put amount here. I did look at the rules at it did say it was discouraged to prevent someone from try to self-medicate but not disallowed completely.

   A. You may not advocate for or against a specific medication or combinations of medication for personal gain. This is strictly prohibited.
   B. You may not discuss the means to acquire HRT medications without a prescription. The discussion of self medication without a doctors supervision is prohibited.
   C. The discussion of recommended or actual dosages is strongly discouraged to prevent information obtained on this site from being used to self medicate.

So to play it safe, I removed the dosage amounts.

After talking with my doctor today. She was telling me about about the pituitary gland as there are rare cases that an increase estrogen can cause a high spike there and lead to a tumor. This is something they check with all their MtF patients. That is just one of many reasons why one shouldn't self-medicate.
