I'm being hit with another round of hormonal dysphoria... it's been about 24 hours (though I don't feel it while sleeping, of course ;) maybe I should do more of that).

The weird thing is that the last episode was about a month ago... it lasted 3 days.
Is it even POSSIBLE to have a monthly cycle of T as a pre-HRT trans woman??

Sorry... I won't be able to track this any further, so it could just be coincidence. I have a week left!!

I swear I actually read a study that said the supposed emotional effects of PMS are not induced by the body, but by a social expectation.

its very possible to have a monthly cycle, I am not sure if there is any solid proof as to why but, it does happen and I had it before and still do after hormones and srs, and lets just say for those 2-4 days watch out!!!

Wow... so I'm not crazy!!  :icon_dizzy:

So the next question... is this a trans thing or do cis men get it? There's that sitcom trope (IT Crowd S1E6 Aunt Irma)... but nobody really believes it.

Google says yes: http://www.healthwellnessdigest.com/male-pms-yes-its-real/
but the best quote is:
QuoteA few studies have been conducted that show in otherwise healthy men, the drop in testosterone was gradual, starting in middle age. So those men who show PMS symptoms cannot really blame dropping testosterone on age but rather on lifestyle issues. They theorize that cleaning up the lifestyle would bring a reduction of symptoms.
I've cleaned up my lifestyle, lost a lot of weight, and THEN started getting PMS. So my theory is that male PMS is opposite for us pre-HRT trans girls...?

Can I ask about cycles, too?

I looked in my diary and I last had this dysphoria cycle Nov 30, so about 20 days apart (from first day to first day). I know there's not much for "normal," but is that long enough to be considered a PMS cycle?

I'm curious, because it sounds like I may have the same sort of cycle on E. Unfortunately I can't look back into my other diary (the predecessor) 'cause it's not with me at work.

At first I was like 'male cycle? whaa?' and then I remembered... I used to feel like I had a cycle too. Can't remember why, maybe because I was getting moody at regular intervals, but I definitely noticed it at one point. I don't know if it stopped or if I stopped paying attention to it, but I guess maybe it is a thing? o_O However, I've suspected for quite some time that I have an intersex condition. Insurance went bye-bye just before getting tested for it so I can't know for sure, but if I do that might skew things a bit.
