Should I be adding any other easy exercise soon or just stick to the bike for now? Keep in mind I am a single parent so I only get a few hours in the morning to do cleaning, ironing, bike ride etc.

A combination of several types of aerobic and anaerobic exercise is always better for your health and weight control. Biking is especially good for your backbone. I used to run and ride bike. However, here in my country, riding bike is not safe, as there are so many crazy drivers, and I stopped it. Still some of my friends enjoy mountain bike and cycling. They got injured at least once, and one guy was already hospitalized twice, risking his own life. Running is far safer than biking.

A little rain is just good when you run, it helps keeping your blood temperature low in hot weather and gives you a bit of agression in cold weather so you speed up.

Yes. Partially right.

In my case, running wet in cold temperatures < 4  degree Celsius mostly causes a cold and even hypothermia, and I do not run when it rains in winter. Sometimes I run wearing waterproof jacket when it snows, and it helps a little bit.

In summer, it is fine, but also can cause hypothermia if running more than 1 hour. Yes. Summer shower is always a kind of blessing, or welcome rain, when I am completely exhausted with the heat.

I've never experienced hypothermia while running and I live in Sweden, where there often are temperatures below -10 Celsius during the winter. I have also run marathons in -5 C and ice cold rain, wearing shorts and a linen. But then again I was not very clever when I competed. My PB on the marathon is from a november run in 0C and I didn't feel the cold until the last 5k.
Nowadays when I run in cold/rainy weather I wear tights, a jacket gloves and a warm cap.
Here's a picture from a december marathon in -2C. (I won in 2.47.27)

The other runner wearing shorts didn't finish.

I am luck where I live as we have bike lanes, and whole tracks only for bikes. It is the only good thing about where I live however :P We even have cyclist cops now!!

I will look at endurance training and maybe palates I think. Cheers for the help :)

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting

When participating any marathon event, I tend to care more about fashion, rather than speed.

Some young men try to chase and pass me, as they think it is shameful not to run faster than a woman. Once a very fat young guy chased and tried to pass me. I could hear his panting sound, making me worry that he might collapse by some heart attack. I slowed down, letting him pass me. Some guys comment at my back to praise my body shape and legs. Nowadays I do not participate any marathon event, as I was already tired of such attention and unsolicited comments.

The last two shots were during a full course marathon. Here in my country, during any marathon event, a bunch of photographers take photos, posting thumbnails in the web page, requesting $$$ for a full-sized photo. The two photos were free.

In terms of fees for photos it's exactly the same in Sweden. I mean why would I pay $50 for a picture of myself looking half-dead during the last 10k of a marathon?

Good week dieting and cardio, bad Valentines lol. Ate far too much Chinese food.

Current Weight: 181 lbs. Down 4 lbs. from last week. Goal Weight: 140 lbs.

Current Weight: 181 lbs. Previous weight : 181 lbs. Goal Weight: 140 lbs.

Ehh, an off week after some good progress. Over caloric a few too many days and under-exercised as I worked a few extra shifts this week. Going to be back on track this weekend though. Not going to over indulge :)

Fri 14/Feb/2014:  174.6lbs (79.4kg) - 7 & 28-day rolling avgs: 173.7lbs (78.9kg) & 173.0lbs (78.6kg)
Fri 14/Feb/2014:  174.6lbs (79.4kg) - 7 & 28-day rolling avgs: 173.7lbs (78.9kg) & 173.0lbs (78.6kg)
Fri 21/Feb/2014:  171.6lbs (78.0kg) - 7 & 28-day rolling avgs: 172.5lbs (78.4kg) & 172.9lbs (78.6kg)

(Rolling averages are a better indicator of progress than single data points.)

I dropped a bit over a pound this past week  :)   Hopefully I'll actually keep that up this coming week.

I notice that my 28-day average dropped over the first 2 weeks of January & has remained fairly static since.  This does seem to indicate that the daily & weekly ups & downs are just normal fluctuation, ie: the "white noise" Barbie mentioned   ::)

Quote from: barbie on February 14, 2014, 12:31:58 PM
Yes. Steady, but oscillating. We call it 'white noise'.

barbie~~

I am only a few pounds above my target, but it feels like every ounce of it is sitting in my gut, doing its damnedest to hide my belt from me (& doing that very well too :( ).

I can't say I didn't watch my weight this much before admitting to myself that I was trans; I did.  But I kept it very thoroughly hidden for years because "only girls worried about that stuff". ..... /sigh ...

Allowing myself to monitor my weight every day without feeling guilt about "not being manly enough" has been a big deal for me.  My adopted male ego is only very slowly allowing my inner self small concessions towards outward expression.  8 months on HRT, & I still can't bring myself to present as female outside the house ... & not too much inside the house either.  No need to rush things though.  Internal progress has been fairly rapid so far (for me).  I am following the auld cliche: "Easy does it.  But do it!"  Time takes time, and I am allowing myself that time while incorporating some constant progress as part of my normal background "white noise".

This week I am feeling good about myself.  Everything else is just details.

Be well,

Tessa

Yesterday, Friday night, it was a little bit chilly at -1 degree Celsius.
Nowadays I feel hungriness more frequently, and tend to gorge every meal.
Nevertheless, I am trying to decrease the intake of carbohydrates, but it is really, really difficult.
That is the physiology of our body.
Anyway, I will continue to try it. My goal is 26 inch waist. Today, it is still 27 inch.
