Still hanging with the cool kids... working to get to a respectable weight...

9/12      216
9/19      212
9/26      208
10/3      208.... whoops, stalled, couldn't avoid that gyro sandwich last night (my "go to" food choice during depressive moments; I am a salts, not sugars, crave fiend).

Okay back on the wagon. Keep up all you hard work ladies!!!!

I actually lost weight and didn't even know it!

I am 6'1" and now weight 150. My former weight was 160. That's a 10lb difference but really makes me feel great. I think my goal is 145 but 150 isn't bad.

Okay, I needed to add my last friday of every month and remind myself when I started this and how well I did. I cannot say I have not been improving my health even though this last month has left me pretty much stuck. For I have increased my endurance, my body is still getting firmer, plus stronger in the right ways, and my flexibility has continued to improve. I just need to see some steady weight loss again soon to avoid falling into a funk, as I have tied a lot of my steps forward to my weight loss, not just my improved health. So hopefully looking back at how well I had been doing, and remembering my goal will get me back on a steady track down. (I do not expect to lose 33 pounds in little over a month like when I started, but would really like to lose 10 by the end of the month!!!)
Please wish me luck gang!

360+  at my highest weight when I found out I was type II. Went to 340 from ketosis, then with off and on half-hearted efforts over ~6 years to get to 300 on 1/21/2014. That is when I came out to myself and started to care about living again and things became absurdly easier. My daughter attributes it to living honestly, which makes life easier in the ways that matter most.

Great news from everyone posting today!  ;D
Just seeing a post means we are still putting in the effort! Some great motivation too, so many of you are really down to weights I am still only dreaming of getting to!!

Worked up in the mountains yesterday and missed posting.
Honestly, this is the same plateau I've been on for 9 months, and it's getting frustrating.  I've changed my eating habits to have a small meal for B&L, then a larger Dinner.  But I eat so much fresh fruit (too many oranges and plums) that it's self defeating.

12/20/2013-  198
8/29/2014 -  207
9/05/2014 -  209
9/11/2014 -  208
9/19/2014 -  210
9/26/2012 -  209
10/4/2012 -  210

Got to stay positive, but now I have to go shopping for larger clothes. Kinda sucks.   :P

Oh my gosh!!!!  I don't know how... or exactly when, but how time in the past 8 or 9 days, I slipped under 150lbs!!!  Stepped on the scale this morning, and it didnt say, one at a time!!  148lbs, I teared up, but did not cry.  Should have, but.. it was my weight 25 years ago...  The past 19 days, I have been separarated from my wife.. so not eatting much.. guess thats the most likely thing.  But I'll take whatever I can get!  At just about 5' 10"... 140-145lbs would be nice, but I feel good, so.. I will just try to maintain.

Hiya girls!

Just checking in. It looks like many of you are seeing great progress! Congratulations to all of you here. Yes, I broke my plateau but now I'm stuck again at 117. :icon_anger: I'm still 5 ft. 5 in tall, and My goal weight is still 105 to 107-8(I'll see what works when I get there). Our weather here has finally broke and the stifling humidity, heat and rain that has kept me inside my home should be a thing of the past for the next 4 or so months so I'll be able to get outside more thus increasing my physical activity allowing me hopefully out of the rut I'm currently in and back to losing these last 10 or so pounds I need to lose. :eusa_dance:

As soon as I start losing again I'll be back. I miss this thread as it had become sort of a weekly ritual for me. But I just felt it counterproductive to keep posting the same numbers every week.

I just wanted to stop in and say hi, and to see how y'all are doing. Again congratulations! to all of you here. Hopefully I'll be losing again, and back soon. ;)

Note:  My insides seem to have (mostly) returned to something close to their normal.  My lifting restriction is over, but I still cannot lift very much compared to before surgery.  It ain't perfect, but things are a whole lot better than they were a few weeks ago.  I'll take it & be happy.

Initially, my target was the simple visual of not seeing my belly protrude over my belt.  Seeing my face look a little gaunt when my weight dropped closer to 160 than 165 prompted me to reset my target minimum to 165lbs.  My weight then crept back up (with my all-too-willing help) by 2.7lbs over 12 days.  I am not happy that every ounce went to my gut.  Time to go find a little self-discipline again ... /sigh

(Rolling averages are a better indicator of progress than single data points.)

I did manage to stop pigging out on cake, but I am still not eating healthily.  I notice that I have been losing a few battles against my weight & food cravings since my shift changed a few weeks ago from a 1am start to a 6am start.  Another reason to not like my new shift.  It is only for another month or two.  I can deal with it now that I have recognised how some of my behaviours have changed.

Wife has to turn in her 4 papers for her MSc finals on Tuesday.  2 done, 1 within an hour or so of being done, 1 is half-written but fully researched.  She will get them done on time, and is beginning to see that.  The huge reduction in stress here has lifted a heavy emotional weight from everyone living in the house.

Looking forward to my parents arriving from Ireland this coming Friday for a short visit.  When we visited them this time last year, there were not many changes from my 4 months on HRT.  I did not tell them I am trans until June of this year.  There are more changes now, and this is our first meeting since I came out to them.  It may be an interesting weekend, but I am very hopeful that all will be well.

Work seems to be going well.  I am receiving much positive feedback.  They seem OK with me taking some time to be with my parents for the few days they are here in Philly.  Fortunately, I only need permission to leave a few hours early on one day & to take a long lunch break on two other days.

I have much to be grateful for.  Now, where did I leave that self-discipline that lost me almost 40lbs ...

Again, Julian of Norwich's mantra is running through my head:

        All shall be well.
        And all shall be well.
And all manner of things shall be well.

Be well,

Just seeing a post means we are still putting in the effort!

I second this !   Thank you to everyone who is posting here.  I have not had much chance to browse through the forums these past few weeks; I just read this topic at the moment.  I love reading so many positive posts, even (or especially) when the numbers are being mean.  I find it harder to keep facing the numbers when they are not what I want them to be.  Seeing others do so encourages me to do likewise (& I am not just talking about my weight).

Quote from: Toni on October 03, 2014, 08:48:50 PMOkay, I needed to add my last friday of every month and remind myself when I started this and how well I did.

Not sure whether or not this would help:  But if you send me as many date/weight pairs as you have (even approximate), I can put them into a graph for you.  I suspect the slope will be impressive.

Tess, it is a great achievement. Congrats. Yes. Hunger is difficult to control. When I am really hungry, I try to eat a lot of vegetables... but still feel hungry.

I'm currently trying to lose some "leftover" muscle mass, especially on my shoulders. That's why i'm temporarily going down to 165lbs.
Hope to reach that target within ~4 weeks, that's the point were i'll start HRT and start to go back up to around 176lbs, which is my "normal male" weight.

I am 6', and would like a target goal for 165; but I really don't know women's weights at 6' to be lean and tight, and am wondering if a goal more like 150 is real, approachable and/or attainable. I can cross my fingers a bit over my wrist that predicts bones to be of the medium build. As i have said before, I want to go fast to a goal weight for my target date in January to begin HRT (have letter and already been approved by ENDO (she is so nice)), (the January date has personal significance, that is why the soooooo painful wait to get going, so might as well knock off the weight now).

Ideas, ladies??

I'm down another 3 lbs.. this is beginning to concern me..  I've lost 8lbs in about 12 days time.. and 20 since about June.

I was 148 Sunday, I'm 145 today.  I switched and began eating organic foods..  a lil bit smaller portions, but could that really be 8lbs worth??
