Initially, my target was the simple visual of not seeing my belly protrude over my belt.  That remains my primary target.  Despite some fat redistribution, when I gain weight some fat is still being deposited where I don't want it to go (ie: the gut).

Another month lost to that same stupid computer game ....  /sigh

Life has improved recently:  After 12 weeks without work, I finally have another job (which starts tomorrow).  Another Win7 migration, but this position has the possibility of being contract-to-hire. 

My wife & I are still getting on very well with each other.  This evening, she even helped me buy some clothes at one of the local Deb stores that are closing down.

On the 20/Jan it was 2 years since I sat down with my wife & told her that for 38 years I had been hiding from the fact that I have always wanted to be female.  Her reaction was to hear me out, put aside her anger & hurt because I looked so scared, and then say to me:  "We are going to get through this.  Together."  So far, we have.

My NA meetings are going well.  Although the ease & comfort with which my home group members are referring to me as "Tessa" is somewhat unnerving.  I still present as male most of the time, and have not yet fully internalised the intensity of change that social transition involves.  That transition may be arriving a lot sooner than I had been anticipating.  I have only been taking very small baby steps, but there have been a lot of them and they are beginning to add up.

Regarding my weight:
It turns out that planting my butt in front of a computer for 12+ hours per day was a good way to gain a few pounds.

Some of my clothes are not fitting as well as they did a couple of months ago.  Worse:  My belly is once again obscuring my belt !

I seem to have stopped the weight gain (for now).  Now all I have to do is lose the 5 pounds I found this past month, & then tackle the other 5 pounds I found over the previous 3 months.

When I started transition a little over a year ago, I was around 220. I have been in the 155 range (give or take about 4 pounds) since early September. I have a couple of basic rules. When I am over 155, I eat very little. When I am under, I eat slightly more. And I dance everyday, whether at home or at the club.

02/06/2015: 192.5 lb on the old machine (where I weighed myself the last few weeks) and 195.3 lb on a new one. The new one seems more precise so I guess I'll stick to it now, but that means I now have an extra couple of pounds to lose. :P

Was thinking my goal was 130 but seeing others goal maybe that is too low.  All I know is I want to look good.  Right now I am feeling great about my progress.  Just wish I could get everything else to go as well.

A few years ago when I was running every day I got down to 180. I thought I looked a little too thin. So I'm not sure what my target range is but I think 165-175 may be good.  The ideal weight calculator says 160-172.

Preface to myself:

I need to lose at least 40 lbs, preferable 60, for my own desired body image and for the upcoming SRS. (Sometime in late 2015)

My goal is to do this in 6 months (16 June 2015) by reducing calories, portion control, and walking (with some light running as play, not a pursuit). Ideally, I'd like to walk 3 miles a day (which is about an hour's worth) in addition to cutting out nearly all sodas (except 1/week).

For now, I will use this BMI calculator, just because I found it on Google and it is easy to use (and for consistency).

Current Stats as of 16 Jan:

Weight: 243.8lbs
BMI: 33.1
Waist measurement: 46"  :(
Bra band size: 48"

My daughter attributes it to living honestly, which makes life easier in the ways that matter most.

Congratulations on the progress!

If you are 6' tall, then I think 130 is definitely too low. That is in the "underweight" range of BMI. BMI is a pretty crude measure, but unless you are *very* slightly built, I don't think you'd want to go down there. I picked my target as at or slightly below the middle of the "normal weight" range, somewhere around a BMI of 21.
