I don't see very much online about Dr. Bensimon so I thought I'd let everyone know about my experience with him. I found him to be very honest and realistic when I met with him. He didn't try to oversell me on any procedures that I didn't need, unlike most of the other FFS surgeons I talked to. In the end, I wanted to stay in Canada for surgery and I felt comfortable with Bensimon as I didn't require anything too drastic. I had my FFS with him two weeks ago. He smoothed out my forehead (type 2), shaved down my brow ridges, hairline advance, eyebrow lift, and chin contouring to make my chin skinnier. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the results although my chin swelling is still coming down so I can't tell exactly what the final result will be. I can tell that my forehead is much smoother, my eyes seem more open and I have much more room to apply eye shadow now than before. The hairline scar is healing really nicely on one side, but is still a little gross on the other side (luckily I can cover it with my bangs).

At the end of the day, I think Dr. Bensimon is pretty good and I don't regret choosing him over all the other ones I consulted with.

Hi Megan!

This is good!  More choices!

I want pictures as your avitar is quite cute.  It is difficult to improve on that.

Where in Canada is he located??  (I'm to lazy to google for him.)

How much did your work cost?

Hugs,

Jen
To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

I'll maybe post some before/afters in a couple more weeks after the swelling has gone down and the scar is healed a little more.

Dr. Bensimon is in Montreal, in the same private hospital as Dr. Brassard.

It's hard to compare prices for all the different FFS surgeons because they all recommend different things and many of them package a bunch of procedures into a single cost. Here is the best breakdown I could come up with:

For just forehead (type 2) with brow lift/hairline advance, chin contouring, plus anesthesia and facility fees only:

Speigel: $23,250
Zukowski: $23,700
Osterhout: $37,500 (would only do it if I included jaw narrowing as well)
Suporn: $25,000
DiMaggio: $19,000
Van de Ven: $22,700
Bensimon: $15,240

Zukowski wanted to add jaw contouring, lower eyelids, buccal cheek fat removal, fat grafting into lines and lips, nose, upper lift lift, and skin tightening for an additional $10,500. He also has by far the highest facility and anesthesia fees of all the surgeons.

Dr. O would only do the whole shebang together, including jaw contouring, and wanted to throw in a lip lift for $2000.

Van De Ven wanted to add a facelift in a separate surgery a few months afterwards for an additional $9500.

Sounds good!  Thanks for the info, and let us know how everything goes as you heal up  :)  I didn't know that Dr. Bensimon did bone work there (haven't checked out the web site in a while) so thanks for that bit of info.

Hi Megan.
If I am correct, type 2 forehead technique includes the use of a bone cement to fill out the depression above the bossing. Do you know which cement Dr. Bensimon uses?
Is it Methyl Methacrylate?
Thanks!

Sorry I'm not sure. I know he basically ground down my orbital ridges and then filled in some of the uneven spots on my forehead with bone paste but I didn't know there were different kinds. I didn't have much bossing so I don't think he had to fill in too much.

Incredible....really incredible! $42.200...for having your face disfigured....plus some totally unnecessary procedures. (undereyelids and skintightening...)

You would have wound up with an overdone, surgically mangled and artificial looking face...at your young age...and god only knows what your dr Z FFS face would look like when growing older.

Yes, you've made an excellent choice by having FFS done by dr B. Nice, natural looking results.

And trying to sell unnecessary procedures would make me run from any surgeon. That's a big, red flag to me!

Megan, you look great!  And thanks for the info on Dr. Bensimon.  I'm considering FFS probably in the next year, and hearing good praises for someone in reasonable driving distance is very welcomed information.
