Activists from the United States and United Kingdom opposed to LGBT rights have urged Jamaican Christian conservatives to resist repealing the country's buggery law [. . . ]

"Do not be like us, do not be like Britain, do not sit idly by as so-called 'LGBT activists' manipulate words and laws to achieve dominance in your country," [said] Peter LaBarbera, founder of Americans for the Truth About Homosexuality [. . . ]

Public health and LGBT rights advocates have called for a decriminalization of same-sex relationships, arguing that the buggery law inhibits outreach to prevent the spread of HIV. LaBarbera countered, though, with his argument that if the problem is that men who have sex with men are at high risk of HIV infection, then it is better to keep same-sex intercourse illegal.

I don't know what's worse.

The fact that buggery laws are still an issue or that these psuedo-activists are essentially fighting a moral proxy war.

Yeah they've been going into African and former-Soviet countries as well, notably Uganda, and causing all sorts of trouble. It's too bad. . . :(

Massachusetts Anti-Gay Activist Tells Jamaica To Preserve Law Banning Sodomy
http://www.buzzfeed.com/lesterfeder/massachusetts-anti-gay-activist-urges-jamaicans-to-preserve
Author: J.Lester Feder Source: BuzzFeed

An anti-gay activist from Massachusetts [Brian Camenker, founder of MassResistance which is considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center] has warned Jamaicans that repealing the country's sodomy provision would end freedom of speech and lead to a surge of sexually transmitted diseases during a rally in Kingston.

"I am here to warn you that [repeal of the buggery law] will have terrible consequences," Camenker said, according to a video of the event uploaded by MassResistance on Saturday. "A law that contradicts God's law is the beginning of a slippery slope that you cannot imagine."

Video of Camenker's speech 15 min 28 seconds included in the link above (I didn't watch the video, but I'll just say it's likely triggering to some members).
