I also needed the closet space.
Heh. I got rid of the bulk of my guy clothes and my closet is more crowded than ever!

I haven't gone full time yet hopefully doing it by summer. I'm an extreme minimalist though .I only have a few Items of clothes . I have one nice sweater that's more feminine than male some one gave and a nice almost sweater that same person gave me that's unisex.  The work jeans will go to good will. then it's total restock time. My minimalist ways probably won't change though, all though I have dreams of being let loose in women's boutiques . Sorry I just reread the original question, but I'm close to being there.

One Word, Goodwill.  Well except for a couple of t-shirts I like really well.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

I gave the clothes in good condition to a coworker to bring to his church and hand out, a few things I kep due to being sentimental lol, but those are packed away.

Nothing I owned was particularly "male" I still wear some of it. People put way too much emphasis on clothes.

the day I went full time (when I moved with mum to Melbourne) I threw out every male item.
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

the good stuff like suits, dress up shoes, belts, leather coats, jackets, ties were divided between my older two boys. I kept a couple of good suits and an overcoat for my youngest boy.. for when he grows.

I still wear my old jeans, t-->-bleeped-<-s, sneakers, and boots when I am working on the house or running local errands...nobody seems to notice and/or care... I feel just like a tomboy

Oh, yeah I kept my combat gear...helmet, vest, fatigues, boots, mask, and stuff... you never know when it may come handy...

In conclusion..I donated nothing... I trough away nothing... LOL

I tossed mine out. It was all worn out anyway so donating it would have been pointless.

I gave all my shoes, flat bill hats, and the majority of my clothes to my little brother. As far as my male work attire I gave them to a sales guy here at the store that does not have much money. I kept a couple of my boy shirts for pajama shirts! :)

I didn't have that many clothes anyway, the jeans I just kept and wore when I knew I would get dirtynasty doing something. A lot of the tshirts I still have and still wear around the house and in the yard, lol.   I even still have an old jean jacket and flannel jacket that I wear sometimes, still get ma'amed and all that junk though.

I've made a ton of donations to a local thrift shop for the Aids Action Committee and some to Goodwill. I will not donate anything to Salvation Army because of their views on LGBT rights. I kept tshirts from concerts and bands. I'm looking into taking a sewing class so I can reshape them.

Gave the lot to the Goodwill store. I own no male clothing, I'm not into cross dressing anymore. I burnt every bridge in one giant go. No going back for me ever.

Right on!  Especially no more cross dressing in suits or ties (gag, choke).  Like Miss Bungle, most of my guy clothes aren't really good enough to be donated.  I use some when doing grubby outdoor adventures on the tractor, trails or wetlands.  Paint rags, oil clean up.

And I too needed more room for my new and much more fun wardrobe.

Still have some shirts, few shorts and plenty of old football jerseys....I save most of this for my sons! My pants are mostly gone since they didn't care for my style...whatever!! My sons have just started to wear some of my old dress shirts and ties for various school functions....I think they look so dasher dressed nice....such fine looking young men :)

The jerseys are way huge on them and me...but like to keep for team spirit/mementoes. I don't remember getting rid of too much......but then again my wardrobe consisted of very little back then!

The first time I transitioned, I bundled all of my clothes up and put them all in the loft, just keeping one pair of shoes, and 2 shirts and a pair of trousers. Then my best girlfriend came up to my place in Milton Keynes for the weekend and somehow the conversation got onto my "boy clothes". Anyway she said if I was totally committed I should have given them all away to charity. I told her I hadn't got around to it.

In those days the therapists were preaching to us all that they only wanted us presenting in Skirts or dresses (GIC Charing Cross) - sort of ultra feminine. Anyway on the Saturday I had a beauty therapy appointment for a full leg and bikini line wax and whilst I was out Alison (my GF) took all my clothes to the charity shop, all but one pair of trousers.

Then over dinner that night she  and my other girlfriend from next door told me what they had done and made me cut up my last pair with some clothing shears. We did it together.

I then lived f/t for the next 2 years.

It was the best move I could do, as it meant I had no choice, but to present as a female on a daily basis.
