I painted my nails pink and went out to the hardware store and kept my hands out of my pockets. It was partially an experiment to see if I could do it and be comfortable. Baby steps, right? I felt a little self-conscious and I felt people looking at me but I bucked up and made it.

Felt wonderful!

Congrats on this big step! I am MtF and that is exactly how I started my outside presentation. Then I progressed to smooth arms, tweezed eyebrows and on and on. Good job. I hope it really built up some confidence for you. I thought it was kind of fun watching people's expression's. Lol!  :)

You are indeed brave!  Just remember that there isn't a one-size-fits-all timeline.  Be patient with yourself.  At least that is what I keep telling myself.  Bets wishes in the new year.

This is so hard when the flood gates open up. Totally correct advise though!  :)

...and while my daughter's in the tub and the wife's out getting dinner, I'm taking this opportunity to war this simple divine silky metallic green top she hasn't worn in years!

This kind of reminds me of a time a few years ago when I was coming home from work and I saw that my gas gage was almost on empty. So I was going to a LGBT club that night and I figured I'd get gas when going out. So I painted my nals and wa sgoing to get dressed in a cozy hiding spot after I got gas. Less than a mile from the gas station, my truck stopped dead. So I popped it into nutral and was just about to push it when suddenly six joggers came up from behind and helped me push it to the gas station. I thanked them and went in to pay for the gas with pink nail polish on my finger nails. The clerk saw it, but said nothing. After I pumped my gas, I left and got changed and was on my way to the LGBT club.

That's pretty awesome and brave.  The few times i've gone out with fingernails painted(have had toes painted for over a year and a half and wear sandals all the time so am used to that), I was self conscious too, but I ended up getting lots of compliments on them.  Helped the confidence and comfort a bit.  Those baby steps do pay off. :)  Also, even a clear polish can be nice at times, when you aren't feeling as confident and comfortable, but still want to have pretty nails

Isn't it fun that something so small in size, like our fingernails, can make us feel so very good?  And then there are the things no one can ever see, like the feeling of being feminine, that can help us smile through the day.

Way to buck up on the baby steps Michelle!

Yes. I ran the same test about a month ago for school. started with black to test the waters. Then I went to class with lime green and lots of glitter

Don't leave polish on more than a couple of days at a time or it will delaminate your nails and they will all break short!

Yes, you were very brave in wearing your nail varnish in public today. Well done!

You are somewhat ahead of me; I am still working out how to wear my brassieres, stockings and suspenders ful time without being suspected. At least I have worked out my proper bra size and how to adjust my straps to avoid them dropping off my shoulder. Basically, bra bands and straps need to be more snug than you first imagine!

But you have emboldened me to go further, so today I ordered a full makeup kit, containing eye makeup, nail varnish, lipsticks and skin toners, plus dusting brushes.

My first step will be to paint my toenails bright red, and to apply discreet lip gloss. Then, following advice from fashion magazines, I shall attempt to gently enhance my cleavage with a darker skin toner applied between my boobs.

Wow! Isn't all this girlie stuff wonderful!
