How did your emotions change if you  have gone through HRT?

Ideas about men and women's emotions are essentialist and limited, so im wondering what people's experiences have been.

It's difficult to describe. I'm more content with the world, more likely to have affection for people than suspicion.

My interest in romance has totally changed. Whereas before I was more interested in "scoring" in achieving something, now I'm more interested in sharing and connection.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I'm much more emotional now.  I used to be an unemotional Aspie guy, but now I definitely have plenty of feelings.  Last month I forgot my HRT one evening and took two the next evening - you shouldn't do this!  The next day we had a little party for the residents with a singer.  He sang "Green Green Grass of Home" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" and I cried.

In my former career pre HRT I saw the most horrible stuff know to the planet and then went and ate lunch with no problems. Now, with HRT, a movie like "13 going on 30" sends me into an emotional tailspin for days! It is nice to be a human being again.  :) I laugh, cry, feel and have a much keener taste and smells. It is so relaxing. :) Like someone said, You are going from black and white to High definition color.

oh hai!

Wow, to be honest, I wish I was more emotionally connected as you ladies. I feel calmer on HRT and maybe a little more contemplative but beyond that I don't have any increase in the frequency or intensity of emotion.

Only 6 months in so maybe I'm expecting too much.

Like Jessica said - high def! Before HRT i was an emotional brick, and life was dull and gray and drab. After HRT? I can burst into tears at the drop of a hat, life has colors and hope now. I can't watch shows like extreme home makeover anymore, and when I'm in dude mode (yeah I still have to do some of that for now) I have to be on alert for anything that might cause tears in front of the guys. I'm a lot more content and let stuff slide off of my back, road rage is gone, but i've noticed that I can still get angry if something really bothers me. I am far more empathetic and compassionate than I was before, and I want to engage with people now whereas before I didn't.

It's good to have emotions  :)

Jeez, I went from nothing and being able to consciously control my reaction to my emotions becoming extremely intense and overbearing in a matter of years.  It can be sorta distracting/difficult (especially negative emotions) but I wouldn't give it up because I just feel truer to myself this way, and not like a robot.
