As the title explained, it was one meeting with the hospital psychiatrist  and a half an hour talk with background and medical background questions, all seemed fine. The only requirement was to check up again in "one or two" months for followup. So now I "only" have to find the spermbank and get through the blood, physical and DNA tests I was asked to take by the endo and am good to go. Hurray XD !!

Really, Hurray !!!

Beware the E!!! Your life will never be the same again :)

Great news, although I find it interesting they want to do a DNA test.

ganjina,

Glad you are making progress with things. I am also perplexed in the fact of the DNA test. Not sure where they are going with that (maybe sex chromosomes).

I wish you luck on your path. Stay safe.

Haha thank you for sharing the joy! I guess it will still take a month or two with the tests and bank thing, I thought DNA tests were normal? Had no idea it was unusual, let's see what happens. Also, since I will be visiting a psychiatrist in that hospital, should I still meet with the psychologist I was visiting before? Should there be any definite added-value? Right now I do not really know how much he could help, am feeling quite OK, and am more worried about the hourly $ fee than anxious about this thing to be honest.

Congrats! Enjoy the wonderful changes. E to me, was like getting on a smooth, calming, flowing river. I personally enjoyed the nulling of the male sex drive...it's sooo nice to not be guided by that anymore.

I usually hear that but I find it strange in the sense that I haven't felt that way and I don't know as a consequence how will that aspect change.. it's a bit weird... Would anyone know if it makes sense to continue visiting a psychotherapist in top of the hospital's psychiatrist? Why or why not?

A psychologist is often cheaper than a psychiatrist, as you are not paying them to medicate you, just to listen, talk and question. Even if you are completely covered by insurance, psychologists are more common than psychiatrists, so they can often schedule you more frequently. If you like therapy, consider a psychologist. Every relation is different, and you should be able to find one that works.

It is up to you.

I think you would be wise to keep seeing some mental health professional. Still plenty of trying times ahead and different obstacles to overcome.  :)

Thank you for the advice. I was not planning of being just on my own or getting meds though.

Here the monthly visit psychiatrist is just a routine check as part of HRT follow-up, so I guess I do not have to pay both, the psychologist which was optional and the psychiatrist which I will be already visiting. What should I tell the psychologist to be done with his visits then? Am guessing he will come with arguments and maybe insist a bit for more visits, but am not sure what's the benefit of it considering I will be already seeing the psychiatrist. I mean I do not need both, do I?

You are correct, you do not need both. Just tell him that you are already seeing someone else but thanks for  his time.
