Just Ole Me

Saw my endo today. After 9 months on a strong dose of Spiro, she is starting me on Estrodial patches.  She is starting me with the very lowest dosage they make.  I'm 40 years old and she wants to take it safe and slow, which I agree with.

She told me my lab results are good and my T level was 680.  I thought that was high but she said it didn't matter what my T level is as  the Spiro is blocking the T from doing its job in my body (ie blocking receptors). Is this true that on Spiro it doesn't matter your T levels?  I've had good results on Spiro this past 9 months but haven't lost the muscle mass I had hoped for.  So how do it get my T level close to a cis female's without an orchi?

She started me on patches which I like.  Hope I don't have any skin reactions.

Hugs

Just trying to find comfort in this "shell" that doesn't fit.  But I am "remodeling" the shell finally!

Both of the doctors I've seen have both noted to me that reduced testosterone levels are indeed a result of being on the proper HRT regimen for a while.  Mine have indeed dropped.

However, I'm never been on an anti-androgen only regimen before, just spiro/estradiol+recently added progesterone.  I'm not sure if estradiol is required to reduce T-levels.

Hi Just Ole Me,

I would tend to think that T reading a tad high for 9 months on a strong dose. I assume that is the USA medical standard and not the Aussie nmol/L. Spiro should have reduced that. With all due respects I'd be looking for a second opinion.
