In The UP of Michigan

Last time I was on Isle Royale I sat up on the ridge and watched through binoculars as freighters and small craft went in and out of Thunder Bay.  Now I'm going to have to visit the place.  My avatar is me standing on a stump in front to Lake Superior at McClain State Park.  It's one of the places I go when I need peaceful reflecting time.

I'd love to go to Isle Royale.

As for T-Bay, it's a beautiful spot. I really dig those Nor'wester Mountains.

Miss the area spent 2 1/2 years in Houghton just up the road.  Would love to get up there again for winter carnival.  Only place I ever saw a keg of beer freeze on the porch.

I love the high deserts.  I have a nice painting in this house of the desert on the east side of the Sierra's.

A little afraid we're turning this into a travelog for Michigan, but I'll post a photobucket link in a couple weeks for my pics of winter carnival this year.  It's in two weeks, and one of my cousins is a judge for the on campus organization snow statues.  I'm helping with a group giving away free soup, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and pie for anyone working on the statues.
