I have very thin, weak nails and pretty thin hair.  I've read online that taking a pre-natal vitamin supplement will harden nails and thicken hair.  Does anyone have any experience with this product?

Also, any advice for getting thicker nails and hair for those of us who aren't blessed with them genetically...?  ;)

Oh, almost forgot, I'm not referring to to hair loss or thinning hair, because I'm pretty sure you can't get that back without expensive procedures, no?

I'm just talking about naturally thin hair/nails.

Finasteride is a medication that is commonly used for hair loss and can restore hair, so can minoxidil. HRT seems to frequently help with hair loss.
For thicker/stronger hair/nails, biotin is an important vitamin to not be deficient in. There are some other "remedies", but they tend to not have much (if any) supporting research.

I've taken biotin supplements which are usually in the hair, skin and nail products.  Biotin worked well for me for hair growth, but I didn't notice much of a difference in my nails.  Most people do see improvement of their nail strength though.

When you say thin hair, is it weak or damaged?  I've been using a deep conditioner lately and it's improved the health of my hair and it's less frizzy.  That should probably help you thicken it to a degree. What kind of products do you use in your hair?  Do you use any heating tools?

i have thick, but very fine hair and i use a volumizing shampoo/conditioner.  also, a healthy diet is vital for promoting healthy nail/hair growth.
