Okay, so Im not out in my school yet, but I really want to change my name, so Ill probably change schools anyway cause I dont have any friends there.
I dont know how people do this, though.. If i apply to a new school, I want to apply with my new name, but I cant change name while I go to this school (since Im not out)
So lets say its summerbreak and I change my name, then apply to a school. Two things that could happen right here:
1. My name change doesnt get approved
2. My name change gets approved, but I dont get applied to the school.

In scenario 1, I would just have to keep waiting for next break and try another name (lol), and in scenario 2 I would keep going to my school, but suddenly I have a new name and Im not even out yet so everybody is confused.
Its impossible for me to come out to my school, cause they are pretty homophobic (and I assume that they are transphobic as well then)
So Im stuck and dont know what to do, and my dysphoria is killing me, and it would feel like a new start if I started at a new school, with a new name and everything.
Let me know how you did this! (if you have)

English is not my first language so sorry if I messed up!

This.

I changed my name in September, but did not change it on my insurance until after I had a few procedures done under my old name and gender marker.  It's not like the government sends out announcements after you do it; nobody knows until you tell them and show them the court order.  And if you can get your gender marker changed on your license at the same time, you can be male at your new school, too.

Could you change it but ask your school not to tell anyone other than those in admin who need to know?  Say that you feel safer not being out whilst at school but it's something that's really important to you in other aspects of your life.

In other words, a "reverse preferred name" where you update your official records with your new name while you still go by your old one in class.
