How to use an STP with underwear?

I recently ordered a packer/STP and I'm worried about figuring out how to use it, especially in public. I exclusively wear men's underwear, and some of it has that slit in the front which I assume is how I will whip out my "penis" and pee in public. Some of it seems a little constrictive though and I don't want to risk damaging my STP.
And then the majority of my underwear doesn't have a slit in the front...so what do cis guys do? Do they just pull down the rim of their underwear so the penis is exposed and then pee?

I'm probably over thinking this but I'm just kind of confused about how cis guys pee standing up with various types of underwear. I don't want to screw up in a urinal and do something weird. Help would be appreciated!

I'm not using my STP in public yet as I haven't mastered mine at all, so take from my advice what you will.

To my knowledge, cisguys just pull down the waistband for fly-less underwear. I've heard that even for underwear with the fly, many guys just find pulling down the waistband easier and less of a hassle. I'd be worried about the fly collapsing the hole or tube inside the packer if it were me.

Yes cis guys usually pull down the waistband like mentioned. I'd just go that route if you can. If you're worried about someone seeing, just have confidence and do it, guys don't look at each other that closely. I've never looked around at other guys either cause that would probably just get me punched, I just asked several of my cis male friends and they all said the same thing though of pulling their waistband down.

Sorry, clicked on this thread by accident as it got bumped mid-click, but I have plenty of experience in this department.  The only guys who use the fly in the underwear are either wearing dress pants with a belt, clasp hook and inside button that can't be undone quickly or are just sort of uptight in the first place.

I used to drop trow about 6 inches and let it fly.  Make sure you drain everything best you can before you put it back.  Well, the last drops always seem to end up in your pants anyway, but it's worth throwing out there.

This may seem like a silly question but... I always kind of assumed cis guys just unzipped their pants and used the flap in the underwear, but I guess what I'm understanding is that they unbutton and unzip their pants, then pull their waistband of their underwear down? (Good thing I don't have a stp device yet...)

Yep thats right. I asked a cis male friend once why the slit was in the underwear in the first place since nobody uses it. He told me he always thought it was cause it helped create a little pouch so your junk doesn't get squished.

Thankfully I have a male friend who was willing to help me through how to use my STP depending on my clothing. Basically it's what everyone else has said: pull down the waistband. Probably best to try the stalls until you get the hang of it!
