Normal to have bubbles during dilation?

During dilation, sometimes there would be bubbles coming out through the lubricant around the dilator, is that considered normal? Am I worrying too much?
Also, what are the symptoms of a rectovaginal fistula?

Thanks in advance.

I never really noticed this myself but I'd assume bubbles to be normal considering the air that is in there has to go somewhere when you stick the dilator in.  ::)

as for the rectovaginal fistula http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rectovaginal_fistula , you would have some pain, infection, and well I will let you read that.

Lets face it, you are shoving a piston into a cylinder that has both air and fluid in it.  Part of the fluid is less viscid than the other as well.  The air is compressed by the piston and is forced into the liquid surrounding the piston and forces it out between the piston and the cylinder wall and escaping through the combined liquids and thus air is trapped in one of the liquids until the air can expand hence a bubble.

If it is bothering you too much, a) cut the amount of lube and b) stop over-thinking the job.  :D

The others have given you the best references, and my reference to you is your PCP or Ob / Gyn if you are having severe pain and other signs of an infection.

I've used KY jelly from my local supermarket, that left bubbles on my dilator. Depends what lubrication you are using lol

Sounds normal to me anyway, good luck with your dilating  :)

How right you are Vicky. Loved the analogy. So pleased excuse my warped sense of humor. Should I therefore discuss my piston and cyclinder with  my mechanic when I next book in for a tune up and service?  :) :)
