I've seen plenty of late-night commercials for 'em, (always a caution point by itself!), but have always wondered if they're worth the money or trouble.  I'm also concerned if they'd have an adverse reaction with the perscription T I'm taking...

Great question man... anyone have any experience with this stuff...

If they're to boost testosterone and if they work at all (which I doubt), it would be probably only for bio males. We don't have testicles to boost production with.

I haven't heard of anything that works unfortunately. And I'd be leery of safety of any online pills. A woman on one of the islands near where I live just died from taking pills she bought online. They were heavily contaminated with metals and other substances.

I'm with Dennis on this.
First off, the manufacturer of the pills is assuming you are a genetic male, and thus they are designed for the genetic male body. I highly doubt it would do anything for us (doubt it does anything for genetic males either), and may be dangerous.

The sad truth is that testosterone boosters, breast growth pills, diet pills, etc. are specifically marketed to cater to the insecurities of many. If they worked every guy would have roid rage, every girl would have DD breasts, and nobody would be overweight.

I know you seem to have a long wait ahead of you before you can start T, Wishy and that really sucks, but I'd hate to see you waste money or worse, get sick from taking pills like this.

really do wish there was something out there tho... just something that could give even a little bit, just until i could get to the point of hormones.

Dennis and Nero make some excellent points there (thanks guys!); and, as I mentioned, just the fact that somethings being pushed on TV or other ads has always been a red flag to me personally...   ya don't see meds that work having to advertise generally, and Nero just nailed it when he talked about the basis of a lot of this kind of stuff just appealing to our cultures personal insecurities, desperation, etc.

So what I've got to ask Wishy, if you don't mind, is why you can't get a script for T?  I know I had it way easy because I've got a cool GP as my Doctor, and I was old enough there really weren't a lot of questions.  But in this day and age, I'd hope that there would be Docs around who, after getting to know you as a patient, would write a script up...  I've got friends here in Portland as young as 20 who have scripts, so perhaps it's just a matter of finding a supportive and understanding Physician...?

Either way, the time will come, but I gotta concur with Nero and Dennis... the stuff just isn't designed for transmen, and even if they work with bio-males, probably wouldn't work for us.   Good luck man!!!

My GP referred me to a gender therapist in February this year. She said there will be quite a long waiting list though and i contacted the clinic and they stated that people from the begining of 2005 are only just seeing their 1st appointments there. As far as i'm aware of i will need to see a gender therapist before i can get prescribed T. I have a lot of doubt that my GP will be able to supply them to me before i've even seen a therapist.

I'm pretty sure they wont prescribe us T in the UK with out seeing a specialist in that area. Which does suck. At least you went to the doctors before me I went last month or sometime sooner....... time flys..... so don't worry to much.......

Wow... that absolutely sucks!  There's a lot of pros AND cons to the whole Socialized Medicene debate, and there's SO much about the medical system in the US that's just horrible, but at least this is one aspect of medical service here in the states has its advantegous.

If you traveled to a different country, (Holland comes to mind) could a person get an on-going script like that?  I just can't imagine having to wait that long just to get to step 1 - yikes!

Yeah. wow that is really long. 2 years before the first appointment. Are there no private therapists in your area? Or is that just not feasible for you right now? I know it can get pretty steep. My therapist is $150 an hour.

just simply not feasable. I have three pets to look after, debt to pay off and i'm only a part-timer thats off to college in sept and my hours at work are going to be cut.

I cant even afford dinner most days  I'm just a puppet to the health system.

I'd be careful with what you take, especially products like that being sold online. Plenty of people with these "buisnesses" could give two (insert swear word here) about their customers, they're just here to make a buck.

A good way to help yourself out in the looks dept, is work out. I've read that good exercise naturally boosts your testosterone. Either way, beefing up a little is a good way to look more masculine. Plus makes you feel good about yourself.
