This question is more for those who hid the fact they knew they where different.
I did really poorly in school from first grade all the way through eight grade.  In high school, I did better but still not that great.
I was reading how boys and girls read, and found that I had both male and female characteristics in learning.

How did you do in school academically and play?
Play wise, I was never into rough and tumble play.
In first and second grade, I really didn't have any friends.  So I just kinda play by myself.  In third grade, I went to a different school, and was put in Special Ed. because of my vision (Legally blind).  I would would just hang out more with my classmates during recess.

In fifth grade, we moved to Denver and a new school.  I would mostly play Four Square, or on a few occasions do hand clapping games with some of the girls from my class. 

After I started middle school, I never had recess so I can't say how my play time was.

I have dyslexia so my spelling is horrendous at the best of times. However, I always was a big reader and spent 90% of recess/lunch in the library or with other girls talking. 

In terms of school work I did average in some subjects and excelled in others. Yet the thing that made that possible was being able to read emotions, which has helped me in more ways than you can imagine. Indeed, I often think to myself, "I am abusing my power of reading people to keep things on track, for the betterment of all"

In terms of games it was a mixture of things, I enjoyed video games, loved playing chasing games and was into story telling/RP. I like art and craft as well as listening to music and chatting. I did not however play sports, hang out with the boys or wrestle in the school yard. I found it pointless and utterly redundant.
