Well the other night I had a dream that I had gone into the hospital for a routine surgery (what the surgery was I can't quite recall). I was alone when I woke up in recovery. The doctors assured me the surgery was a success and that I would be moved into a private room shortly. They wheeled me into my hospital room and left me to rest.  My body was sore and as I ran my hand over my chest I noticed something. My chest was flat! I immediately shot up and rushed into the bathroom of my hospital room, completely ignoring the pain. Of course the bandages were there and I couldn't really see anything. As I felt the bandages I started telling myself that it couldn't be possible. That the bandages were just hiding my chest. That there was no way I would be so lucky as to have top surgery. As these thoughts ran through my head the bandages started to unravel and when the last of the bandages dropped to the floor I gawked at the two scars on my chest. My chest was truly gone!! I ran my finger over the scars and as I did so the pain subsided and the walls of the hospital fell away and I found myself out side in a park. With my favorite khaki shorts and no shirt. The sun felt heavenly on my bare chest and I couldn't help but smile because for the first time I felt truly free.
Oh how wrong we were to think that immortality meant never dying

That sounds awesome!! I've been out for a year now, and I just had my first transition related dream last night. I hadn't had surgery or anything, but my mom was calling me by my preferred name and my dream self was aware that surgery was shortly on the horizon. I was so stoked when I woke up. I hope your dream comes true soon dude :)

It was. I woke up so elated with the feeling still lingering on but then I realized it was a dream and got pretty sad. Now I'm hopeful because I now know what it will feel like to be happy and content with every part of my being.  :)

Dreams like this are amazing because they can be embraced as what WILL come to be.  Focus on that feeling you had - that's what will get you through to seeing this become a reality.  It will happen  ;D
